An image can catch your eyes in no time.

What if you don’t get it glimpse?

What if the cursor moves on and on but, the picture doesn’t load?

Certainly, the images stick people onto the screen. But, you cannot prevent bouncing them out if it is not there on your e-Commerce or travel website. These are the cases of ignoring optimization of the pictures. An HTTP archive reports that 64% of the website’s weight lie on them. If it pops in less than 2 seconds, the SEO experts call it optimized. Even, Google and other search engines push your web ranking up against the good web experience.

Image Optimisation

A snapshot in a high-resolution cannot be called optimized. Rather, a high quality that is put in the requisite format with the right dimension, size and resolution is called so. However, the size is a key because a big-size image may take minutes to upload. This can bring a massive disappointment to your mobile and desktop customers. The connectivity, the engagement that you try to build through that snapshot won’t actually work. Eventually, it proves good for nothing. It provides no SEO benefits.

The good news is that you have some free online tools like Pagespeed Insights to identify what it takes to streamline them. The image editing companies always tap on such tools to put their banners into the image guidelines.

However, the size can be an evil. If you size it up, it can ruin every effort that you have put on search engine optimization. You need to compress it to undo that damage.

Resizing Images

As it’s stretched a little bit, the pixels scatter. It looks like a fuzzy halo around that photo. Typically, it is called pixilation or photo compression noise. For viewers, it looks an unclear or blurry picture.

An experienced web designer or image editor always thinks twice before making it enlarged. That’s why such veterans do not forget adjusting those pixels before coming up with the final copy. It is noteworthy that you can reduce the pixels per inch to 300. It generally won’t make it look that much blurry.

But, stretching it can make its impression turn around. The unadjusted ppi or pixels per inch can turn it slightly blurred. Let’s say, you have a 4X5 snapshot that has 600 ppi. Now, you have sized it up to 8X10 inches without compensating on ppi. You won’t get an amazingly clear impression.

If you’re a newbie or a fresher, it’s always good to switch to some advanced photo editing tools like Adobe Photoshop. It has some predefined sizing structures that can automatically adjust the pixels corresponding to its size.

But, it is no right way if you use "resampling" for resizing. It does some plus or minus in the pixels to adjust, which often remove or add something to that image. So, adjust it yourself and save the one with the best resemblance.

Impact on SEO Ranking

The faster loading is a cup of every netizen’s tea. They love exploring deeper if the web journey is smooth and loads images faster. A webmaster blog has already claimed it, which means the faster website loading yields better ranking.

Conversion Rate Goes Up

When your website scrolls up in ranking, it invites more users to engage with. It gets you closer to more conversions. In short, you can have more leads and opportunities to upsell and cross sell. Kissmetrics has researched that 79% of shoppers are dissatisfied with the way websites upload. They don’t like to wait for more than 2 seconds for exploring what’s in your website.
