When Triumph redesigned the Tiger 1200 XCa in 2018 they wanted to create a bike that had all the latest technology incorporated. They didn’t disappoint. And in 2020 the 1200 XCa still is one of the most technologically advanced motorcycles on the market.

A bike with all the bells and whistles, when it comes to features nothing tops the Triumph Tiger 1200 XCa. With LED adaptive corning headlights, a Triumph’s Shift Assist System, Hill Hold functions, heated grips and seats, and an electrically adjustable touring screen, you won’t find a bike that comes standard with more equipment on the market.

Triumph’s Shift Assist System enables smooth clutchless gear changes that allows you to keep accelerating even as you change gears. And the Hill Hold function? It only makes your bike more stable on steep inclines or when you’ve got the bike loaded full of motorcycle camping gear.

But it’s not just a showroom bike that’s loaded with fancy features. Equipped with an ultra-powerful 1,215 cc, 12 valve, dual overhead cam, in-line 3-cylinder engine that puts out 141 horsepower and delivers 90-foot pounds of torque you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more powerful bike in its class.

Even the front and rear suspension are adjustable. So, whether you want a firm ride or a bike that reacts to every bump in the road the choice is left up to you. And the suspension can handle just about anything. The front suspension has up to 190 mm in travel while the rears have up to 193 mm in travel.

With such a fully loaded bike you’re probably expecting a large price tag. And you’re right. Priced at $22,000 the Triumph Tiger 1200 XCa isn’t cheap. But don’t let the initial price tag scare you off. Unlike many other bikes that draw you in with a low base price tag then upsell you with features, this bike comes standard with all the extras. So, $22,000 is typically the final price, not the opening offer. All of these features are especially useful to motorcycle campers who like to get way off the beaten paths where you encounter a wide variety of obstacles and challenges.

The only real drawback to the Tiger 1200 XCa is its range. While it comes with a 5.2-gallon tank it only averages 41 miles per gallon. And while that’s not terrible, that only gives it a 213-mile range before you need to fill back up. Which is not bad, but most bikes in its class will go further, and remember those numbers do not account for a bike that is weighed down with supplies, so it can be helpful to buy lightweight camping gear.
