How to Keep Your Camera Safe while Traveling
Posted: Jun 08, 2020
The summer is already here in India and the photographers are cheerful for the potential locations they are going to get early in the morning and late in the evening. It is going to be really hot in India like it is during every summer, still the photographers are optimistic people. They can find opportunities in every situation. However, taking care of the camera as you travel around the country is a big concern for all the bloggers, travelers, and photographers. If you are a photo-freak person who loves taking brilliant photos, you need to know how you can take care of your expensive photo-taking machine.
Use padded bags
You need to invest right now in a sturdy padded camera bag that doesn’t look like a camera bag. In place of the traditional camera bags, you can look for the unconventional shapes like a sling bag to hold your camera and its accessories. It is because the thieves and pickpockets should notice you at last and they should not get the motivation to rob you because you are having something expensive in your bag.
Camera in the hand luggage
There are several airlines who do not check the weight of the hand luggage. And even if they do, they allow you to take it if the extra weight is because of the camera. You must never send your camera or its accessories into the luggage rail because you cannot trust their handling. It is better to trust yourself and keep your thousands of bucks of worth camera with you.
Camera in the car
This should go without saying but you must never leave your camera in car. Whether you drive your own car or hire Car Rentals in Bangalore or any other city, you can never trust your car to be safe enough for your camera. If a thief sees you leaving your stuff even in the boot, he may target your car by any means. And if you have very urgent situation to keep the camera in the boot, you must do so discreetly without anyone noticing you.
Hide the branding
As much as you love the brand name of your camera on the strap and on every piece of camera equipment, so do the thieves. The more your camera shines and shows off the brand name, the more vulnerable target you become, especially in the theft-prone areas. That is why; you must use a black tape to hide the branding everywhere you find it on the camera equipment to save yourself from becoming a potential target.
Insure your camera
If you have invested in really expensive cameras, the lenses might have cost you even more than the main camera body. Therefore, it makes sense to insure your camera and its accessories just in case you lose them or they break under any circumstances.
A camera is no less than a photographer’s beloved, and you already understand this if you are a blogger or photographer. Protect your gear like your life and you will have a long, really long companionship.
