After several searches and tests, I was able to resolve the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN or DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN chrome error. This error is displayed because of a problem in locating the site in DNS servers (DNS lookup).

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN are errors that may appear in the browser every time you try to access a web page. Error tells you for certain problems with DNS network. Typically, this problem is related to the DNS settings or other problems with your Internet settings poor. DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error usually appears in the Google Chrome browser. However, these problems can interfere with Windows, Mac or Android system. If there is something wrong with the Internet's DNS settings, Chrome can display a grey window with one of these messages:

  1. DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
  2. This page is not available

DNS is a server that allows the translation of a domain name by its Internet address (IP). In this easy-to-follow tutorial, you will discover how to repair your connection to the domain name server (DNS).

Fix DNS PROBE FINISHED NXDOMAIN error:

Solution # 1: Change the DNS addresses

In this first solution, we will modify the addresses of the DNS servers on Windows. Start by opening the control panel, an easy method is to use the WIN + X keys then click on "Control Panel".

Then open the "Network and Sharing Center".

Click on "Change card settings".

On your internet connection, right click then "Properties".

Select "Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP / IPv4)" then click on "Properties".

Then put the following addresses in the boxes "Preferred DNS server" and "Auxiliary DNS server".

You can put the Google DNS addresses:

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4

If this solution does not work after applying the settings and closing the properties window, go to solution # 2!

Solution # 2: Command Prompt (CMD)

Method 1:

IPCONFIG Open the Command Prompt window as an administrator.

Then enter the following commands one after the other (the order is important):

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /all

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /renew

Several rows of results will be displayed for the first two orders, here is an overview of the last two orders:

Then restart your computer, if you still get the same error go to the second method!

Method 2: Definition of the IP:

We will now obtain a default IP address, to do this open the window described in solution # 1 and then check "Use the following IP address:".

Put the information as follows (by changing X by a value between 2 and 255):

IP address: 192.168.1.X // PC

IP Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 // Automatic

Default gateway: 192.168.1.1 // Router IP

At the command prompt enter this command:

netsh winsock reset

Then restart your computer!

Solution # 3: Flags on Google Chrome

The solution that worked for a friend is as follows (only for Google Chrome). In a new Google, Chrome window open this page: chrome: // flags /

Then click on the button "Restore all tests to default".

This will re-initiate all of the experimental functionality of Google Chrome and it should fix your browser.
