With all the golden time invested, you can’t only make the video appear on the homepage and share it on social media and expect someone to watch your video. If the content is to be great, it’s necessary to grab the attention of people towards your brand video. Working with a series of YouTube ads is one of the ways to grasp your targeted audience.

YouTube Advertising is unique than running a paid social campaign or PPC. There are certain constraints and more options for this network, and you want basic knowledge before running a paid campaign.

What’s New?

Google announced in January 2017 that it would make changes in Google Adwords, so it allows advertisers to receive more views for their videos on YouTube - especially in mobile phones where 50% of views come. It also made the most significant announcement that it drives you the target audience, depending on their Google searches.

Marketers can now target the exact people who search for the relevant products or services on Google searches. If the ad content is similar to viewer searches, then the viewers are likely to watch the entire ads or click on ads to the website.

When YouTube also targets the search history, it seems cost for the ads to target your audience more effectively.

Types of YouTube Ads:

There are three types of YouTube video paid ads that you can run on TrueView, Preroll, and Bumpers.

TrueView Ads:

It is the standard video type of paid ads on YouTube. Advertisers can only pay when people watch or click on the ad (Clicking the call-to-action button).

Advertisers of TrueView Ads only pay if the viewer watches the ad at least for 30 seconds or the entire ad video or if the viewer takes action (clicking call-to-action). YouTube requires that the skippable TrueView ads should be between 12 seconds to 6 minutes of video length. And also, non-skippable TrueView video ads should be between 15 - 20 seconds video length.

TrueView ads are of two types. There are:

Video Discovery Ads:

Video Discovery Ads previously named as In-Display Ads. It appears when people make a YouTube search. And these ads show up on the search result pages, related videos pages, and YouTube homepage.

The video discovery ads appear as a related video on YouTube in the right-hand sidebar. Once a viewer clicks on the video discovery ads, the result video page produces a right-hand column where companion video discovery ads appear.

In-Stream Ads:

In-Stream ads are the ads that run before a viewer watches the video on YouTube. Sometimes, Viewers can skip the ads after watching for 5 seconds.

Marketers will customize In-Stream ads with overlay texts & different CTAs. Some will customize it on the outer side of In-Stream ads, where you can find it in the top right corner on the YouTube page.

Pre Roll Ads:

Some In-Stream ads appear before, in between or after the main video, and these are non-skippable. They are called Pre Roll ads. It has a duration of 15 - 20 seconds.

These non-skippable ads which appear in between through a YouTube video should have 10 minutes or more longer duration.

Bumpers:

Bumpers are the shortest YouTube video paid ads that play 6 seconds before a viewer clicks the video to watch.

Bumper ads can’t reveal a good story about a thing in just 6 seconds, but they can surely create an eagerness to know briefly about the announcement.

Through these types of YouTube paid ads, you can accelerate more traffic to your videos & profiles, and thus if a viewer loves your content, you will receive a new subscriber. It will surprise you when seeing the benefits of buying YouTube subscribers.
