Does HR and Payroll software benefit HR team only?

There is a widespread belief amongst organisations that HR software and payroll software ease just the lives of HR and no other employee.

And so, we are writing this article to burst this bubble of myth. Contrary to the popular belief, in this article, we are going to tell you how HR and payroll software help employees in general and various departments other than HR.

  • Finance department gets support- Managing reimbursement claims, business travel expenses, booking tickets, making accommodation payments, and keeping a check on organisation’s assets, there is a lot that comes under finance and admin department. Managing all of this manually is quite tedious. With HR software, it becomes a cinch for the department to manage all the mentioned tasks and much more.
  • ESS increases transparency- The employee self-service portal helps the employees in fetching their receipts and download them at the click of a button. Moreover, they are also able to see their in and out time, so that they don’t get their pay deducted just because they left a few minutes early. Moreover, it also allows them to apply for their leaves and check the paid days etc.
  • Boosts employee morale- When there is no payroll software in place, the employees have no place to keep a check on their salary deductions or days for which they will be paid. But with a payroll management software, they can. Infact, they get access to a whole lot of information related to their attendance and remuneration. What is that matters the most to employees? Money. This is what they work for. When they get the right salary amount credited and get the details of the same in case of any confusion by having a look at the payslip, there morale to work more dedicatedly increases even more.
  • Form 16 and tax filing- Form 16 is yet another thing that employees are always worried about. When there is a payroll software in place, the employees get Form 16 at their dashboard. Moreover, they can easily file for tax and show their investments. This is quite liberating for both, the HRs and the employees.

This increases the productivity as no time is wasted in going to the desk of the concerned department personnel to get their problem solved.
  • IT team gets support- The availability of modules like asset management and helpdesk in an HR software help the IT team to a great extent. They can keep a track of all the IT assets and solve the IT related queries according to the set priority quickly.
  • The aforementioned points are just a stone throw in the sea of benefits an HR software or more precisely a payroll software has. We hope the next time you think of an HR software, you will think of it as a software that helps the organisation as a whole in better management and productivity and not something which is just for the benefit of HR.
