Moisturizing is one of the best ways that you can care for your skin. There are different moisturizers available for every skin type. Sometimes it gets difficult to find the right moisturizing product as there are countless brands available, all with so many formulas that work best for the skin and issues. With so many formulas lining up there at beauty shelves, finding the right product seems to be difficult. There are Bazillion brands available, so many products to choose from there are many different options, that includes Body Butter, Body Lotion, Body Oil.

It's important to know the difference between these formulas and which one will work best for you. While all these products are used to soften your skin but still there is some difference between them. If you are thinking about what would work better for you, Body Butter or Body Lotion, you are in their right place. Here, in this article, we’ve summed up the main difference between the both which will help you.

Body Butter

Body butter is the thickest formulation of all the body moisturizers, it is more of an intensive moisturizer, ideal for rough, dry skin. Its consistency is similar to the butter that we eat. It lasts longer than the body lotion and also is thicker than that. The main key ingredients in body butter are, it contains Shea butter and various oils like coconut, jojoba, avocado, or argon. It is heavier than lotions and has an oiler finish to it. Body butters are also used when you need long lasting effects- when you have broken or flaky skin, chapped skin or fir you are just trying to promote elasticity. They are used to retain moisturizer and are perfect for dry to normal skin and can be used all around the year.

Body Lotion

Body lotions are similar to body creams but are even lighter mainly because they contain more water that is mixed with a little bit of oil, providing you the thinnest type of layer for application.

Lotion is not as thick as a body butter. They are lightweight and absorb into the skin faster. It will not stay or necessarily moisturize as long as a body butter might. And if you have an extremely dry skin that needs more attention then lotion may not be the best product for you. But are ideal for normal skin and spread easily.

Importance of Body Butter

Body butter is the key product that everyone should use weekly or even daily if you have dry skin. They are really helpful and essential in hydrating and nourishing your skin. Using it regularly helps to soothe your skin, and prevents skin irritation from occurring. If you use a body butter that contains ingredients like Shea butter, it can help you to increase your skin elasticity.

Some absolute importance of using Body Butter is as follows

  1. Helps to promote cell rejuvenation
  2. Reduces the appearance of wrinkles
  3. Forms a protective layer around the skin
  4. Keep the skin hydrated, healthy and young.
