66th Annual Primetime Emmys: Red Carpet Fashion Report
The stars were out in their finery Sunday night for the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, and there were some trends spotted on the red carpet.
Speaking of red, there were reds of every shade on the carpet — from soft corals worn by Heidi Klum and Kaley Cuoco–Sweeting, to the vibrant red gowns chosen by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Mindy Kaling, Octavia Spencer and Orange Is the New Black’s Uzo Aduba.
In addition to reds, metallic gowns continue to be on trend. Hayden Panettiere and Amy Poehler both looked stunning in silver and Taylor Schilling was gorgeous in a blush-colored gown. Also seen on the red carpet: gowns with separate bodices and skirts, sported by Breaking Bad’s Anna Gunn, Sarah Hyland and Game of Thrones’ Natalie Dormer.
When it came to trends for hair, most of the stars opted for pulled-back looks, to show off their jewelry and dresses. Some kept it loose, though, like Taylor Schilling’s upswept yet loose and low chignon. Mindy Kaling slicked hers back, but still showed off her length.

-Julia Louis-Dreyfus was radiant in red: she wore a soft red Carolina Herrera halter dress with dark red leather accents around her waist and neckline.
-Orange is the New Black star Taylor Schilling was right on trend wearing an elegant blush metallic halter Zuhair Murad dress. Her hair swept up in a loose, low chignon showed off her gorgeous diamond earrings; she also wore diamond rings and a diamond bracelet. It was one of the night’s best dresses.
-Girls’ star Lena Dunham raised some eyebrows with her new platinum bob and her pink ensemble by Giambattista Valli. It was a pale pink silk short-sleeved top, tucked into a pink ombre full-length tulle skirt.
-A pregnant Hayden Panettiere showed off her growing baby bump in a short-sleeved silver metallic gown with a plunging neckline. She kept her hair up in a textured bun, accessorized with a silver headband.
