Online education is an electronically supported learning via student can interact with the teacher while learning the concept. It is the newest and most popular form of distance education today. It’s a more interactive, collaborative approach in which students and teachers co-create the learning process. There is a shift in the position of a teacher from just an instructor to a friend, philosopher, and guide. Online education basically meets the needs of that bunch of students who cannot or prefer not to study in traditional classrooms.

With online education, a student can access the course from any computer with Internet access, 24 hours a day, seven days a week which is an immense incentive and benefit for many of today’s students. Online learning helps to eliminate both social and physical borders and barriers. A student can easily study and learn from any corner of the planet. Students get high-quality education as per their own place and time. Also, they don’t have to waste their time in traveling. Online education enhances learning as a student can get the concept clear in the class itself instead of carrying it’s baggage to the home. They can ask their doubts from the teacher as many times as they want and can even discuss with other students in the class itself. Students who feel shy to ask questions in a class of 50-60 students can clear their doubts in their comfort zone. Students ca`n take more time to think and analyze the problem and concept. They don’t have to hurry up just like in traditional classrooms. It also improves the administration as a teacher gets time to examine students' work more thoroughly. It allows the teacher to manage to grade online. Teachers can even interact with the parents to tell about the progress of the student. Online learning enables parents to keep tabs on whether their child is actually working or not. However, in traditional classrooms, it’s not possible for the parents to keep an eye on their child’s day to day progress.

A student can even record the class or online interactions and can again review the same class for a better understanding. It’s a shift from the class of 50 to 60 students to a batch of fewer students which enables them to learn more attentively. The online process requires both instructors and students to participate actively in the learning process. The instructor tries to engage students directly rather than relying too heavily on lectures and memorization. Teachers get to know online students much better as compared to traditional classrooms. It’s not just an interaction between a student and a teacher but everyone in the class can be involved in the group- and class-level discussions and can contribute as much as they want. An instructor can even use tools like the digital curriculum.

Digital curriculum tools provide the student, ready-to-use lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments. The Digital curriculum is online teaching software that provides teachers with pre-made materials so they can save time and help students learn. It is feasible for the students as they don’t waste their time writing notes. They get the proper study material in the form of softcopy which they can access from anywhere.
