James Cameron & Kathryn Bigelow’s X-Men

The director James Cameron never directed a superhero movie. Cameron wanted to direct an X-Men movie with Katherine Bigelow. They wanted to work with Bob Hoskins as Wolverine along with Angela Bassett as Storm. Later, James got more interested in making Spider-Man instead of an X-Men adaptation. Cameron wanted to direct this movie along with his wife for Carolco Pictures, but it went down due to some financial crisis. In the end, it resulted in the cancellation of The Wolverine movie.

Zack Snyder’s R-Rated Version of Wolverine

Zack Snyder is a famous Hollywood movie director. He wanted to make an R-rated Wolverine movie. He was offered to work on X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but he could not accept that offer because he was working on his upcoming Watchmen movie at that time. He was also offered to direct X-Men: The Last Stand after the previous proposal, but at that time, he was busy making the movie 300. It resulted in the cancellation of an R-rated Wolverine movie.

X-Men/Daredevil/Fantastic Four Crossover

The writer Zack Stentz and the former writer Ashley Miller expressed their script in an interview. They explained about the Marvel movie crossover in 2011 with the X-Men, Daredevil, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four. Due to this crossover, X-Men: First Class was decided to move further along with the X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Young Wolverine/X-Men: First Class 2

The director of the movie X-Men: First Class, Matthew Vaughn, had excellent plans in his mind to take all the X-Men movies to a great height, but very soon, he left the franchise. Before leaving the franchise, Vaughn stated that he wants to make another part of the X-Men: First Class and explained the name of the movie as, ‘New Young Wolverine’.This movie would be the sequel of First Class. He wanted to show the young Wolverine in the sequel of First Class, after that, the prequel trilogy would be clubbed with the X-Men: Days of Future Past. This movie was started in 2009, and the director of the movie Black Swan, Darren Aronofsky, joined the unit to direct the film, The Wolverine. He had already worked with Hugh Jackman, who is playing the role of Wolverine in the X-Men series. Darren met Jackman on the sets of the movie The Fountain. After two years, Darren had to leave The Wolverine because he did not want to spend one year without his family. After this, the director, James Mangold, was appointed for the completion of the movie. In 2013, Mangold and his team finalized the movie, The Wolverine.
