Most of the times people get confused regarding a Food Dehydrator and a MICROWAVE OVEN and this confusion lead them to many puzzling question like, what is a food dehydrator and its use and same questions goes for the oven as well.

Technically speaking, food dehydrator is used for the purpose of removal of water from the food item, by dehydrating the food there are chances of preserving food for a long period.

On the other hand the Microwave oven is used for multiple purposes like; cooking different dishes, speedy cooking, baking, and reheating earlier cooked food and many more.

Here we will be looking at both of the culinary equipments in much detail to understand their functionality and to get the idea about what types of foods can be cooked by the use of these equipments.

First we will look at the Food Dehydrator.

FOOD DEHYDRATOR:

Food dehydrators are used for the purpose of the dehydrating the food, as the name suggests. The reason behind the removing of water from the fruits, veggies and meat is that many microorganisms that are found within the food cannot survive without the absence of water.

So, food can be preserved for the long period of time and the same technique was of dehydrating the food the purpose of preservation of it was done by the exposing the food articles to the heat radiation of the sun.

Principle on which the modern dehydrator carries out its function is basically it uses heated air flow to prevent food from being moist. By doing this bacteria and other microorganism won’t be able to survive due to absence of water and food can be preserved for a longer period of time while being edible and being crispy.

The functionality of a microwave oven is based on the use of microwave radiations in electromagnetic spectrum through the food item which maintaining the food’s nutritive attributes. Microwave ovens these days are the among kitchen equipments that are used for multiple culinary purposes.
