Posted: Sep 04, 2014
In our day to day life, doing the laundry turns out to be a major activity. Some of us barely put much thought into the science that goes behind the art of laundry or washing clothes. There are many fabric softeners including Hydrophilic Softener which are being used on a daily basis. We try to put a little light on the unique topic of discussion.
You Have Many Options
With the innovation of technology, the way of doing household chores have totally changed. Now we depend on various gadgets and gizmos to take care of cleaning, moping and washing etc. The world has become a very competitive place and we must invest in household technologies to spare us some valuable time. An equipped house with latest gadgets provides the owners the leverage to indulge in leisure activities. The up to date washing machines have a device so that, you can add fabric softener to the pile of laundry during the final wash. But in many launderettes it has to be added manually. Many companies sell detergents that come with previously mixed fabric softeners. This kind of product can help you save money in comparison to buying detergent and fabric softener in separate packets. But advertisings can be misleading. You should ask your friends and neighbors about the kind of detergent or fabric softener they have been using. But there is vital point that most of use fail to notice. Fabric softeners are mainly manufactured in order to be diluted and used. One should be very careful during the application as clothes may receive spots, if the dilution is directly applied on to the clothes.
The Magical Method
The use of fabric softener goes back a long line. Previously it was mostly natural softeners. But new age industrialists gave it a commercial touch and made it easier to reach out. Many new age softeners are based on quaternary ammonium salts combined with one or two long alkyl chains. The main process of working of a fabric softener is by layering the cloth fibers with chemicals. This is a very tiny layer which is not visible to the human eye. The chemicals that are present in fabric softeners have lubricating properties and are mostly electrically conductive. This process reduces the hardness of the fabric and changes its property from hard to soft. The electrically conductive chemicals stop the building of static electricity. There are many aftereffects of this application like smoothness during ironing and less wrinkling and softening.
