The Lord of Wisdom, Knowledge & wealth – Lord Ganesha is universally accepted as Supreme power. The remover of Obstacles, ‘Ekdant’, has carved his niche in the Hindu Mythology. The great lessons of life are none but the real-life experiences in our day-to-day life. And these lessons help us to choose the correct way of life and worship the big Ganesha idol for home. Let us learn more about the Supreme Being and his spiritual significance by reading the four lessons of life.

Lesson No.1 - Duty is above all else

Story:

Lord Ganesha was an obedient son, following all instructions of his mother. One day, Goddess Parvati ordered Ganesha to guard the door while she was taking a bath. At the same time, Lord Shiva entered the home. As per the orders, Ganesha didn't allow lord shiva to enter the premises. This fumed lord shiva & a scuffle took place, and the Lord out of rage beheaded the little boy.

Moral:

A person should adhere to its defined duties and moral responsibilities. And it is nothing different amongst the gods. Goddess Parvati was so impressed that she even gifted a sculpted large Ganesh statue made with turmeric-paste. The entire story weaves around the word 'duty', and it's the real essence. And, Lord Ganesha stands as the epitome of a dutiful son!

Lesson No.2 - Make the best use of resources :

Story:

One day, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya had to face a challenge of running three times all-over the world. The winners would get a miracle fruit as the prize. Kartikeya rushed out with his aide, the peacock. In comparison, Lord Ganesha was in a dilemma of doing the same, as his aide was none other than a little mouse. Intelligently, he started encircling his parents three-times, who meant the entire world to him.No wonders, he was blessed with the miracle fruit by his parents.

Moral:

We all experience the constraints over limited resources in life, and thus it doesn't stand easy to satisfy any individual. This story was courtesy of a lack of resources, but the right presence of mind. So, you should make use of the best of all the resources available to get the fruit of success! Lastly, It doesn't matter if you worship a big Ganesh statue for home or small, rather this story signifies that the work done with pure intention irrespective of the resources always wins. So put your best effort to conquer every challenge in life.

Lesson No.3 - Always stand up for your self-respect:

Story:

Lord Ganesha’s stories are never-ending, and all are full of moral values pointing towards our daily life. Once, the entire ‘Swargaloka’ decided to attend the royal marriage of Lord Vishnu. Owing to the physical appearance & massive diet of the Lord, the other god and goddesses decided on not taking him along with them. Instead, they made him guard the ‘Swargaloka’ in their absence. The entire idea agitated Lord Ganesha, and he decided to stand against the same.

To take revenge upon all the others, he instructed his aide, ‘Mushak-raj’ to dig the entire way towards the marriage venue. It turned into an obstacle for all the traveller deities. Later they asked help from a passer-by farmer. And he helped them while chanting the name of Lord Ganesha, as the ‘Remover of all Obstacles’. This entire episode astounded the traveller deities, and they realised their mistake and apologised to the Lord.

Moral:

Thus, the entire story suggests not demeaning any individual of their abilities and physical outlooks. Everyone is unique & possesses specific qualities that others may lack. Treating everyone equally, leaving behind partiality & standing up for your rights is what this story talks about. Moreover, to bring in confidence and transform your personality, one should place a large Ganesh statue in their pooja room and start their day by chanting Ganesh mantra every day.

Lesson No.4 - The Art of Forgiveness:

Story:

Once Lord Ganesha was returning to his living abode, after a hearty meal at the palace of Lord Kuber. While walking, he lost his balance and started to roll on his belly. Meanwhile, Moon, who always carried an air of pride for her beauty reciprocated with a sarcastic laugh. The entire thing agitated the Lord, and he cursed the Moon of disappearing from the sky permanently. Moon begged for his immediate forgiveness. As the Lord couldn't revoke his curse, he decided to reduce the span of disappearance by one day.

Moral:

The entire story is none but a hint of the Lord’s anger, and how the very ‘anger’ can affect any individual severely. It is our inner power and tolerance that makes us overcome such situations. By taking back the words, one can transform themselves into a better soul. To attract positivity & develop tolerance, one should purchase a big Ganesh statue for home & meditate daily.

Conclusion

The legends of Lord Ganesha are none but all eye-openers for all true believers like us. The stories and facts revolving around the Lord are never-ending. These stories are real-life challenges which we all face in our daily lives. And the morals of the morals act as our survival gear in these everyday nuances of life. The top six lessons are nothing different, and we bring you the various means to overcoming all these daily obstacles with wit and knowledge like the Lord. They strike a delicate balance between life and its hidden issues. So for transforming your life, place a big Ganesh murti at your living place and perform puja daily. Over time you will get aided by his power of wit and knowledge.
