There are a number of ways to monitor your child’s phone activities on iPhone. Apart from manually checking their phone, you can also utilize applications to get access to their text messages and other information. Consider this as a step to protect them, at least up to a certain age.

Way 1. Use iCloud Message Syncing

One way of monitoring your child’s message is by using Apple’s cloud message sync feature. It works on iPhone running iOS 12 and above. If the iCLOID message syncing is enabled, you can easily read messages from your child’s phone. The only downside of this method is that, you need to know your child’s Apple ID and password. To get child’s text messages on iPhone, you can follow the steps below:

Step 1. On your child’s phone, go to Settings and tap on the name of device user

Step 2. Under iCloud, move the slider in Messages

Step 3. Sign in the same iCloud ID on another iPhone and view all messages

This method is easy to use but only applicable if you know your child’s Apple ID and password. Please note that do not use your personal Apple ID as your child can find out you are monitoring their device.

Way 2. Use Text Message Forwarding

Text message forwarding is another way to monitor your child’s text message. Every message sent or received by your child will be accessible by setting up this feature. Follow the step-by-step instructions to track text messages:

Step 1. Go to Settings and find Messages

Step 2. Under Messages, tap on Send & Receive

Step 3. Sign in to an Apple ID you will use for monitoring

Step 4. Go back to Settings again then find Messages

Step 5. Tap Text Message Forwarding to enable this feature

Step 6. Select your own device to receive text message from your child’s iPhone

Step 7. Enter the verification code when prompted

The limitation of this method is that your child may turn this feature off. To prevent your child from changing the settings, you might set a restriction passcode. You can visit Settings> General> Restrictions> Enable Restriction> enter a passcode> select Don’t Allow Changes.

Way 3. Utilize SMS tracker with Chamspy

If you want to avoid getting caught when monitoring your child’s text message, you can utilize a third-party SMS tracker. Here we would like to introduce the Chamspy. Compared to the previous two methods, Chamspy enables you to read all sent&received text messages on your child’s phone without being found. It is compatible with iOS 9.4x and above. Follow the below steps:

Step 1. Register your account with email

Step 2. Add the iCloud details of target device and disable the two-factor authentication

Step 3. Log into your account on any browser and track text message

This powerful tool empowers to view all sent and received messages. Even if a message is deleted, you still can get access to it. You can also view media files, contact number, name and pictures. Thus, parents can know what kind of message your child is exchanging and who he/she is chatting with. They can identify potential dangers like sexting, cyberbullying and phishing from this SMS tracker.
