The purpose behind Christian counselling

The aim of all types of Christian counseling is complete healing on the spiritual and emotional levels. This is a vital contrast to profane counselling and psychology where the goal is accommodation and management of defined disorders.

The profane worldview offers no hope for healing. It has to depend on drug management and behaviour. Any system, company or Christian counsellor, that doesn’t believe in complete healing possibly, lacks Christian anthropology. They don’t completely realize the power of the cross and the power of the human soul along with Christ.

To say that the aim behind Biblical counseling is healing might appear quite simple. It puts the power of evil into its proper context as they are in every way inferior to the things that are good. Christian anthropology describes this through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, where the eventual quenching of evil was at its worst, and getting its power insignificant in the face of everything pure. The power of the evil always gets defeated during the resurrection of Christ and thereby healing becomes a reality.

Healing through its nature assumes the existence of the restorative state in which a person will return. If a person cuts their finger, the finger gets healed when the wound heals and the skin replenishes on its own. In case of spiritual and emotional healing, the pain may be in different ways much more painful and complicated. Still the mechanism for the spiritual and emotional healing comes through Jesus Christ.

Healing is all about restoration to the original nature of the soul, its purpose, its intention and the meaning for which God created us. Healing is about completely becoming all that God has created us to become. A marriage and family therapist can alleviate the process and can help men and women to heal completely.

There is much research implying that stress levels all over the world is raising. Whether it is about grief or loss, health issues, regular financial worries or various other issues, people are over stressed and overworked. One such remedy for facilitating such distress is mental health counselling.

A marriage and family therapist face different kinds of issues these days. From recommending a health care system to the clients that are less motivated to other complicated problems, the challenges of becoming an efficient counsellor prevents many from entering the profession, and enhances the departure of those already dealing with pressures that they are unable to control. Christian counsellors are not safe from the struggles of the contemporary therapists. Luckily, for many, developing their faith during these hard times has not only kept them in the profession, but has offered them the chance to work with their clients in a more accommodating and flexible way. Extra spiritual support can not only offer an inner peace that many are lacking, but can also provide direction and guidance for the major issues of life.
