Importance Of Flower Garland & Gajara In Indian Wedding

India is a land of festivals and a rich cultural heritage that has been endured as time passed. Being a land possessing different cultures, it has also procured different traditions, rituals, ways of living with great harmony. If we retrospect the ancient traditions and history of India, we will find significant importance of flowers and flower garland.
Indian history, Indian Culture, and Indian Mythology consist of many stories, incidents where flowers or flower garland are embodied in one or another way. For instance, in great and holy scripture and poems like Mahabharat and Ramayana, flower garland (Phool mala) was used in Swayamvar, to choose the groom by the bride. There is a usage of the word Pushp Varsha (Rain of Flowers) in our holy ancient scriptures. So, the usage of flowers and flower garland is time immemorial.
You might be thinking why flowers are so important on special occasions like weddings, festive celebrations or other occasions.
