Database is one of the most important part of your website. A good database management system is extremely important to make your organization work flawlessly.
Before one setup his or her organization, they should consult with professional database consultants before structuring their data.
There are 10 common commercial database management systems available that one can use for their organization. These are;
- Orcale.- IBM DB2.- Microsoft SQL Server.- SAP Sybase ASE.- Teradata.- ADABAS.- MySQL.- FileMaker.- Microsoft Access.- Informix.
- Oracle:Probably the most widely used database management system is Oracle. It's not easy to manage as Oracle is a word in itself. You would need to spend some quality hours for learning Oracle. Once you have learned it though, you will be proud of all the hours you committed.
- IBM DB2:IBM is not ordinary name. Everyone knows about the good old company but their database management system is relatively unknown. The DB2 is quite popular among the big organizations. Like Oracle, it is not that easy to learn.
- Microsoft SQL Server:Microsoft is a household name when it comes to creating softwares. Their SQL Server is most popular among the webmasters. Many universities teach SQL Server too! It's easy to setup and learn. Just download the installer file and you are good to go.
- MYSQL:Among all the systems in our list, MYSQL is the easiest to learn in my opinion. You need to learn how to make query statements but that's not difficult. It's easy to setup and anyone with a basic knowledge of databases can setup it easily.
- Teradata:Teradata is yet another big name in the database management systems. Not so quite popular few years ago, Teradata have made their way into the industry and made themselves into a industry leader. A Teradata expert is earns extremely wells today. There are different certifications provided by Teradata. One can easily start with these.
- SAP Sybase:Sybase is a US based enterprise that provides solutions to your database problems. Their relational database servers are easy to use and can be setup without much of a hassle. If you are looking for database management system, I would recommend going with Sybase.
- Filemaker:Filemaker is another relational database system that was first released by Claris. Though the company is now a subsidiary of Apple Inc. but the Filemaker is still quite popular. If you do not want to write SQL statements, you can start with Filemaker. it comes with a beautiful GUI.
- Microsoft Access:Microsoft Access comes with the Professional Office Suite. It provides a great GUI and can be easily used. It's not that difficult to learn. One can start with it right away.
