The role of ball mill liner plate 1. Protect the cylinder and extend its service life

The first function of the ball mill liner plate is to protect the cylinder and avoid the impact of materials and steel balls during the operation of the cylinder.

2. Enhance the rigidity of the cylinder to avoid its deformation

Because the lining plate is closely connected with the barrel of the ball mill, the rigidity of the barrel is enhanced to a large extent, and the premature deformation of the barrel is effectively avoided.

3. Improve materials and steel balls

Due to the different shapes of the liner, such as wave shape, step shape, etc., when the cylinder is rotating, the shape and friction of the liner can transfer energy to the material and the steel ball, which can enhance it and give it certain potential energy and falling kinetic energy.

4. Play a grading role for steel balls

There is an automatic grading liner, which can classify steel balls of different sizes.

  • The steel balls with larger diameters are concentrated on the feeding end of the ball mill cylinder for crushing large materials.
  • The steel balls with smaller diameters are concentrated at the discharge end to crush smaller materials.

The installation process of the ball mill liner plate 1. Installation of rubber liner plate of ball mill

The first is the installation of T-bolts, including T-bolts, sponge washers, sealing rubber washers, U-shaped iron bowls, iron flat washers, etc. The steps are as follows: Put the T-bolt into the inner slide of the lifting bar, put on the round sponge washer, the bolt seal, and the bolt fastener. After the T-bolt passes through the cylinder hole, insert it in sequence.

2. Install the feed end cover of the rubber lining plate of the ball mill

To install the end cover of the feed end of the ball mill, you need to first place the filler strip at the intersection of the end cover and the cylinder, place the end liner plate on the filler strip, and press the end lifting strip of the T-bolt on the end liner on the edge of the board, then put an end liner board and fasten the nut of the T-bolt.

At this time, you need to be careful not to lock the nut, and then repeat the above steps. After installing a part of the end liner and the lifting bar, insert the ear of the center ring behind the end liner and the lifting bar, tighten the nut, and then install the rest.

3. Installation of accessories at the discharge end of the rubber liner of the ball mill

The installation mainly includes filling strips, peripheral grid plates, center grid plates, grid backing plates, center dischargers, peripheral dischargers, end lifting strips, etc. Installation steps: first install the discharger and lock the bolts. The installation of other components is basically the same as the installation of the feed end, the difference is that the grid backing plate needs to be installed behind the grid plate.

Matters needing attention in the installation of ball mill liner

The liner is generally longer than the mill barrel. As long as the installation workers in the mill install a row of liners, the workers outside the mill must lock the nut in time. When the mill needs to be rotated, each bolt must be fully locked with a nut to prevent displacement of the liner and lifting bar during rotation.

Ball mill liners are all directional, so please pay attention to:

  • The arc length of all annular gaps shall not exceed 310 mm, and the excess shall be wedged in with steel plate and separated.
  • The gap between adjacent ball mill lining plates shall not be greater than 3-9 mm. A barrier should be laid between the liner and the inner surface of the cylinder according to the design requirements. If there is no requirement, a cement mortar with a compressive strength of 42.5 MPa can be filled between the two.
  • When installing the lining board with the rubber pad, open the rolled rubber board 3 - 4 weeks before installation to make it stretch freely. When using the rubber plate, the long side of the rubber plate should follow the axial direction of the cylinder and the short side should follow the circumferential direction of the cylinder.
  • Carefully check the geometric shapes of the liner bolts and holes, and carefully clean their flash, burr and protrusion, so that the bolts can freely penetrate into the required position.
  • The complete set of liner bolts should be composed of bolts, dust washers, flat washers, spring washers, and nuts. In order to prevent dust leakage, do not forget to use a dust-proof mat during use.
