What is Eczema?

Also known as atopic or allergic dermatitis, eczema is a skin condition that causes itching, dryness, and redness in the affected area. It may sometimes also progress to crusting, weeping, flaking, and excoriation.

The eruption of eczema often starts on your cheeks, your trunk, and the bends of the joints. That being said, it may appear anywhere on your skin. It is recommended to have it diagnosed by a medical professional since eczema can be easily misunderstood for other skin disorders like scabies or contact dermatitis like poison ivy, psoriasis, etc.

It is not just a skin disease; it is an immune system disorder characterized by an overreaction. In simpler terms, a lung allergy is called asthma, and an eye-level allergy is called conjunctivitis. Similarly, a skin level allergy is called eczema.

Why should you go for a homeopathic approach?

Conventional medicines view eczema as an aberrant dysfunction of your immune system; as a result, conventional treatment usually focuses on suppressing your immune response using oral and topical steroids, topical anti-inflammatory drugs, and oral antihistamines.

Using the drugs may improve the condition of your rashes for a while, but when you are no longer on medications, eczema returns. When it comes to children, we hope that a child will eventually "grow out" of this condition. Choosing to go with homeopathic medicine can help you take on a different approach.

The use of homeopathic remedy helps your body to move into a much healthier state. The response of this type of medication may be moderate on your immune system and helps against eczema. With homeopathic medicine, the likelihood of improvement is somewhat better since our body is relatively better at moderating and over-responsive state.

During the healing process, the first symptom of improvement would be on your body's most profound level, vital organs, mental, and emotional levels. The last stages of progress will show on the most superficial level, extremities, and skin.

In simpler terms, if the homeopathic treatment is successful, you can expect to see an overall health improvement at the deeper levels either before or as your eczema improves. As the healing process begins, you can first see progress on the face, trunk, and lastly on the extremities.

Despite improving your initial symptoms, treating eczema with steroids may worsen overall health by subsequently developing a more profound problem like asthma.

Conclusion

For many people, eczema is a lifelong condition that flares-up now and then. Once treated, it could take a few weeks for your rashes to clear up. Since these rashes tend to develop from adverse immune reactions, there is always a risk that more such flare-ups may occur when exposed to triggers.

Though eczema may develop during adulthood, the chances of infection are higher amongst children. There is also a good chance that the condition of eczema may improve with age.

If you think you or any of your family members show signs of eczema, you need to get in touch with a homeopathic doctor near you to get it looked after.
