Lord Borus is the final villain of the first season of One Punch Man. However, the Internet is treating him like a parody of Goku. Some even pointed out the similarities between Boro’s and Goku’s Super Saiyan transformation, which is similar in retrospect to the three stages of super Saiyan transformation in the DragonBall universe.

Just like any other One Punch Man’s villain, Lord Boros travels around the universe, destroying planets and causing species to go extinct. After spending some time on earth as the antagonist of the One-Punch Man Season 1, Lord Boros finally meets his competition, Mr. Saitama himself.

One-Punch Man serves as a parody of your everyday shonen protagonist, where the 25-year-old becomes a hero for fun. He is so powerful that the series doesn’t make any sense, representing every shonen anime that makes the protagonist overpowered from the start.

The antagonist, however, looks somewhat similar to Goku in terms of physique and powers.

Similarities between Son Goku and Lord Boros

Son Goku and Lord Boros are two different characters from two respective shows, but Lord Boros resembles the Dragon Ball hero. In the 11th and 12th episode of the first season of One Punch Man, Lord Boros transforms into a similar character that resembles Goku’s Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3. Apart from the long spiky hair and muscular body, Lord Boros’s multiple transformations echo the Super Saiyan transformation of Son Goku, which increases power and strength.

Similarly, in the 12th episode of One Punch Man S1, Lord Boros transforms into his ultimate form by growing out hair up to his waist, which resembles the Super Saiyan phenomenon in Dragon Ball.

Fans pointed out that Lord Boros’s ultimate form resembles Goku but in an evil way. The similarities were striking, and the power levels were similar too. Some fans also pointed out that the final form resembles more of Frieza than Goku.

Other than physical resemblances, Goku and Lord Boros share a similar goal of gaining power and beating other strong characters in their respective shows. All Goku wanted all his life was to get more potent than any of his peers.

In search of power, Goku beats Frieza, Android 13, Cooler, Kid Buu, and many more. Similarly, Lord Boros wants to gain as much power and strength by beating other stronger characters. The motivation behind the two is the same, and the goal both these characters seek is ultimate power and superiority.

Even though Goku just wanted to protect his family and friends, he tried to gain powers along the way, and in the same way, Lord Boros kills other stronger characters until he is the only one left in the universe.

At the very least, Lord Boros is a rip-off of Goku with a straightforward goal, and in pursuit of his dreams, he travels around the universe, finding stronger beings to test his powers. In simple words, Lord Boros is a fighter who keeps looking for better opponents while Goku sits at home and chills with his family and friends.
