Agri-tourism will be a lifeline for farmers in the State
Pandurang Taware: International Webinar on 'Hotel Management,
Travel-Tourism' by Suryadatta Institute of Education
Pune: "Students in the field of hotel management should turn to
entrepreneurship. Hotel management and agri-tourism are complementary.
If agri-tourism is given a boost it will help improve the economic
condition of farmers in Maharashtra. This opinion was expressed by
Pandurang Taware, a renowned entrepreneur in the field of agri-tourism.
Pandurang Taware was speaking at the inaugural function of the four-day
international webinar 'Exenia: Bestowing Hospitality' on behalf of
NAC-nominated Suryadatta College of Hospitality Management and Travel
Tourism (SCHMITT). The webinar was organized under the Industry-Connect
and Knowledge Management Initiative. Dr. Sanjay Chordia, Siddhant
Chordia along with industry experts, senior scholars, alumni of
Suryadatta Sanstha spread across the globe participated in the webinar.
Industry veterans guided the students through this international
webinar, explaining their valuable knowledge and insights into the
industry.
Prof.Dr. Sanjay Chordia said, "There are many areas associated with
agri-tourism. If local products, places and things are marketed properly
employment can be created in a big way. Agri-tourism will open up many
opportunities for hotel management students. If development the dream of
becoming a self-reliant India will come true. "
Students were introduced to changing concepts and innovative ideas
related to all departments of hospitality. Food Styling, Food Blogging,
Airport Catering, Wine Appreciation, Mixology & Scrubs, Cloud Kitchens,
Food Historian, Facility Management, and many more. A total of 250
students and professors from SCHMITT and other institutes and colleges
in Maharashtra participated in this webinar.
Chef Nitin Tandon, CEO of Clearwater Hospitality Services described the
exciting content on food styling and also discussed the career and
career paths of a food stylist. He underlined the importance of having
key basics in the kitchen to become a food stylist.
In the second and third sessions of the program, Eureka Arazo, Chef Amar
Srivastava spoke on Bold Career and Professional Pastry Making, Chef
Rahul Wali on Food History, Ramesh Upadhyay on Facility Management,
Bapji Jinga on Mixing Fluids Shastra, Chef Rajesh Shetty on Airport
Ketter. Karthik provided guidance on laundry management, Chef Raviraj on
Cloud Kitchen Concept, and Chef Akalpit Prabhune on Fruit Wines.
Suryadatta Group of Institutes regularly conducts training activities,
workshops and industry connect activities for their students,
professors, and alumni. Recently, SCHMITT has organized various events
under its Industry Connect Initiative such as Industry Expert, Theme
Lunch, Alumni Gathering, Cooking Arts Workshop, Bakery, F&B Service,
Accommodation, Mixology, Food Styling, Housekeeping, and Front Office
Management..
Students and alumni expressed the feeling that they have received
valuable guidance from various sessions in various fields of hotel
management and travel tourism. The students appreciated Suryadatta's
initiative and thanked them for providing the opportunity of this
international course.
