We have entered into the digitized age where ordering shoes online is a talk of the bygone era. Everything you can think of can be accessed through your fingertips. Except for traveling, you still need to pack your bags and get out there to enjoy that. However, rolling back, digitization is at the prime of its time. And, owe it to the recent pandemic that even job interviews these days are digitized.

Video interviews have been in use for years now. However, the recent pandemic indeed did amplify its use. Now, if you are someone who has been looking for ways to ace that video interview, we have got you covered.

We have curated these direct, short tips for you to prepare for that important job interview.

1. Discuss everything, beforehand

Double-check on the timings and date for a video interview. Be on time and don't let the interviewer waiting.

2. Check for the connections well in advance

Well before in advance check the lightings, microphone, network connection, and silent place for your video interview. This way you won't be running at the end moment fixing that internet connection.

3. Keep your documents handy

Keep your resume and other important documents handy. You may require them during an interview and you wouldn't want to rush out checking for them at the last minutes.

4. Look at the camera

The trick to giving that video interview a real personal touch is by looking in the camera while speaking. It might take time to get used to but that gives the viewer an appropriate angle to view your expressions. It gives the feeling of speaking to any person in person.

5. Prepare for it as you would for a normal interview

Don't get on board without prepping yourself. Do your study, prepare the questions, know your answers, and step in with confidence.

6. Dress your part

Dress for an interview and not only the upper half of your body. You might have to get up during an interview and you wouldn't want an interviewer to catch you in your boxers. Put on an ironed shirt and clean trousers at the bare minimum.

As they say, you reflect on how you dress.

Now, this is the best you could do to ace that video interview and get everything in sync. However, one cannot do anything for last-minute emergencies like a power failure. So, keep your device charged, beforehand. And, always use a microphone instead of a speaker for your video interviews.
