If you have a medical condition that makes it difficult to travel or if you just hate waiting in the doctor’s office to be seen you can hire a doctor that will come to your house to examine you. In the past the only doctors that were willing to make house calls charged a lot of money for their time. But in the last few years it has become more common for doctors to make house calls. House call doctor services have sprung up where a group of doctors form their own medical practice and will see patients in a medical center or at their homes. Most of the time these doctors even accept major insurance plans that cover the cost of the services provided, even though the patient may have to pay a trip fee out of pocket.

There are lot of advantages to hiring a doctor that makes house calls. If you need to see a doctor for an annual exam but can’t get any time off from work you can have the doctor come to your work and examine you on a break. Or, if you have small children and getting them ready to leave and watching them at the doctor’s office would be difficult the doctor can come to the house to provide services where you can keep an eye on them easily. Elderly people who have problems getting transportation love the convenience of having a doctor come to the house instead of having to go to the doctor’s office.

House call doctor services can perform a wide range of services in a patient’s home. Regular exams, X rays, drawing blood and other tests and services can all be done by a mobile doctor at a patient’s home. Many doctors even offer urgent care services so that if you hurt yourself or become so sick that you can’t make it to the emergency room you can get seen by a doctor right away. The trip fee that you have to pay is almost always a lot less than the charge for an ambulance. So you can pay less and get seen by a qualified doctor in the comfort of your home. And your insurance will probably cover the bulk of the cost if not all of the cost.

If you have health problems that require constant trips to the doctor or if you just want the convenience of not having to leave home look into switching your medical care to an on call doctor service. You can be sure that you will get the kind of quality care you need and the cost will be minimal. You no longer have to have a lot of money in order to have a doctor come see you at your home. Even if you don’t have insurance the cost of the services provided is usually comparable to what you would pay at a hospital and you get to see an actual doctor and not just a nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant.
