What Is An Audiogram?

A hearing test typically gives an examination of a patient's subjective sense of hearing ability and is usually performed by a professional audiologist with an audiologist instrument. An audiologist uses an audiometry instrument to determine a patient's hearing sensitivity at various frequencies. There are several other audible hearing tests available, e.g., Bruges test and the Roth test. During a Bruges test, a technician plays a series of sounds in sequence; the higher the sequence, the higher the frequency that is repeated. As the sequence is played, the patient will detect when the sequence of tones changes.

The Roth hearing test is similar to the test, except that the sounds are played at higher frequencies. In this way, the patient will not detect the changing frequencies in the series of tones. A third type of audible hearing tests is the Perkins test, also known as the Wessel-zeeck test or the Perkins method. With the Wessel-zeeck hearing test, one or more sound sources (usually two) are placed near the ear of the patient and they are asked to detect where the sound is coming from. If the individual can hear the source, then they have detected some level of hearing loss.

There are several types of audiograms available. One such test called the C Audiogram measures the response of the left and right ear canal. Another called the C Audiovoximeter measures the response of both the left and right ear canal. The three types are used in conjunction with one another. This enables the audiologist to evaluate the extent of loss of hearing

The first step to being able to understand how audiograms work is to know the difference between an audiogram. An audiogram uses sound waves to generate a reading of how far or near you can hear. An audiogram gives you a number of different sounds and compares these sounds to your normal hearing levels. When you hear the sounds, you can determine whether or not your hearing levels are normal.

There are four different parts to an audiogram. Your hearing loss is measured against a standard scale called the audiogram scale. Your hearing loss is measured against six different points on this scale. The shaded area shows your hearing loss in percentage.

Once you have detected your hearing loss, you will be given a list of sounds that you will hopefully be able to distinguish. The list is made up of eight different sounds: speech, music, conversation, information, and others. The audiogram then calculates how far you should be able to hear without turning up the volume of your stereo or listening to something with a very loud noise.

The audiologist may place the earmuffs over your ears, or place a device directly on your ear. He will then fit your earmuffs to your ears and give you a series of different tests. These tests will help your audiologist to determine if you are experiencing any symptoms of potential damage or loss of hearing ability. If you are found to have hearing loss, you will likely need to wear corrective devices. However, if you do not have hearing loss but you are experiencing other symptoms, an audiogram is not a bad idea.

Your hearing ability can be tested in several different ways. However, an audiogram is probably the most common way to test your ability to hear. An audiogram only takes a few minutes and can be quite informative. You can have your results within just a few minutes of having the procedure done. Your results will be detailed in an audiology report, which can be presented to you can keep it and refer to it at a later time.
