Petrol and diesel prices have been rising extremely high these past months and with the pandemic in sight it gets very difficult to keep pace with the raised prices of everything while also taking care of a family or just yourself. Because of this specifically people have been preferring to use more electric vehicles that allow the driver to charge them and then use the next day. But if you look up the internet the prices of electric vehicles are very high due to the use of bases for their batteries like Cobalt, Nickel, etc.

These bases do not only make the prices of the electric vehicles more expensive but are also known to be dangerous to the atmosphere. This issue is very serious because of the growing global warming. Lithium Based batteries are one solution for this problem. They run on high temperatures and are not dangerous or harmful to you or the earth. When a car has nickel or cobalt based batteries in it, it is a threat to your life. These batteries are toxic to human life and nature as well.

In order to take care of your safety as well as nature's it is a cheap and nice option to adapt using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) based batteries. It was debated for a long period of time that lithium based batteries work slower and are harder to get in action as compared to nickel and cobalt based batteries but Chao-Yang Wang, a mechanical engineering professor along with his other colleagues proved it that these lithium based batteries are very good at working if warmed up before using. The professors demonstrated this by warming up the batteries to 60 degrees celsius and then sustained them. The lithium based batteries came in action and worked better than the other two toxic batteries of nickel and cobalt.

These types of Nickel based batteries are more preferred by mechanical engineers because they have more power than LFP based batteries and can drag the vehicle to longer hours when fully charged. This was proven wrong by Wang and his colleagues when they showed that LFP batteries, if charged fully which can be done within a very less time, are capable of allowing the vehicle to travel longer distances with convenience and comfort. The problem with nickel based batteries is that if they are charged for longer periods of time then they can even trigger a fire which is a risk to life and nature. The same when done with LFP batteries, only increases the performance of the vehicle and allows to travel more conveniently without any risks.

"Lithium batteries will continue to drive cost down and improve fast rechargeability and safety," - Mr. Chao-Yang Wang and his colleagues said and are now working to create better electric vehicles with LFP based batteries in them which are not at all dangerous to life and nature and they are also convenient to use.
