Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an independent organisation formed under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Indian Government. FSSAI came into existence on 5th August 2011 and its headquarters is situated in New Delhi. FSSAI authority has six regional offices one of which is located in Mumbai. The FSSAI license number is a 14-digit number that is printed on the label of the food items. c) Form A or Form B.

e) Incorporation Certificate.

The FSSAI act helps all the consumers, local authorities, small businesses to get all the reliable information about food safety across the country. They are providing three types of license based on the business turnover:

a. Central FSSAI License for business turnover more than 20 crores- Form B.

b. State FSSAI License for business turnover between 12 lakhs to 20 crores-Form b.

c. FSSAI registration for business turnover up to 12 lakhs- Form A basic license.
