CPEC Latest News: Prime Minister Imran Khan, while discussing a conference on trade and investment in Colombo today, said he had joined a policy to eradicate poverty. He said he had held talks on various issues with the Sri Lankan President, and the Prime Minister said poverty could be eradicated through investment. He said it was necessary to end the role of the middle man in controlling inflation. Prime Minister Khan was of the view that China had reduced its middle-income business through technology and removed 700 million people from the poverty line.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan had prioritized the provision of high-end places for entrepreneurs. After coming into power, he contacted India through negotiations and urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch joint efforts to eradicate poverty. He said business ties were important in the fight against poverty.

He also offered Pakistan’s mediation between China and the United States (US).

The premier said Pakistan and Sri Lanka could work together to improve tourism. He expressed his desire to sign a tourism agreement with Sri Lanka.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has invited Sri Lankan businessmen to invest in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He also invited the Sri Lankan prime minister to visit Pakistan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Trade Minister Abdul Razak Dawood, and others attended the summit.

In their address, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Trade Minister Abdul Razak Dawood also called on both sides to come up with a plan to achieve success in the trade sector. countries including Sri Lankan trade ministers and 40 key Pakistani businessmen aimed at promoting trade and investment.

Both countries have shown a willingness to participate in Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings to promote cooperation in key sectors including textiles, pharmaceuticals, construction, information technology (IT), agriculture, and tourism.
