Digital Marketing being a trendy field grabs the attention of many young professionals, seasoned professionals, and entrepreneurs. Everyone wants to learn this valuable skill but it is only possible when you have the right approach to learn and do it with an open mind.

I will share my story in this article. I don’t call myself an expert in digital marketing but till now whatever I have done and am doing and planning for the future, I am sure I am on my way to becoming one. In fact, till now whatever I have done is marketing.

After completing my graduation I worked for an MNC as Technical Support. I was in the HP process and I had to help US-based customers with their printer problems. During my tenure, I had to interact with international clients. I had to remotely troubleshoot problems faced by them and during the interaction, I had to generate leads to increase that would help in the company’s sales efforts and thus generating revenue. So, this is where I first did marketing!

I started working on some freelance gigs related to content writing, blog writing, and social media, and during this time I got an opportunity to work with a US-based startup. I successfully handled their digital marketing including some in-house campaigns. I handled a team of Social Media Marketers, Web Designers, Blog writers, graphic designers, and Content Writers.

Recently I have been working with a SAAS provider that provides solutions to the insurance industry using AI. I am helping them with their marketing strategy, lead generation, CRM management, e-mail marketing, social media, youtube videos, reports, etc.

But after all these efforts, I was not sure that I was a complete marketer. I started exploring ways I can increase my knowledge and optimize my marketing efforts. I read blogs, books(maybe not the right ones), watched Youtube videos. I also started exploring new courses in the market. Almost all the reputed training organizations in the field of education have come up with digital marketing training. Digital Marketing is now a part of the MBA curriculum as well.
