Kidney Failure:

Kidney failure or Renal failure is actually when your kidney stops working and acting naturally or a gradual loss of kidney function, as your kidney does not get enough blood for filtration and that thing damages your kidney like a disease.

One of its types is CKD.

What is CKD:

CKD refers to Chronic Kidney Disease, which is a condition in which kidneys do not work perfectly as usual. Chronic Kidney Disease causes severe pain and later if it rests for a long time it tends towards kidney failure.

Chronic Kidney Disease Causes:

There are many causes that affect your kidney, but some people are more at risk than others who are in conditions like:

  • Diabetes

  • High BP (Blood Pressure)

  • Heart Disease

  • Genetic Kidney Disease

  • Age factors

  • Smoking

  • Coronary illness

  • Having protein in the urine

CKD Symptoms:

In the early stage, when there is something wrong with your kidney function, you might feel symptoms like:

  • Itching

  • Muscle cramps

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Not feeling hungry

  • Swelling in your feet and ankles

  • Too much urine (pee) or not enough urine

  • Trouble catching your breath

  • Trouble sleeping

And when this problem reaches to its last stage 5 know as Acute Kidney Failure your symptoms become more severe like:

  • Abdominal (belly) pain

  • Back pain

  • Diarrhea

  • Fever

  • Nosebleeds

  • Rash

  • Vomiting

If you start getting symptoms which are mentioned above, then there is something serious for which you should consult with your doctor right away.

CKD Stages:

Below shows the five stages of CKD and GFR for each stage:

  • Stage 1 with normal or high GFR (GFR> 90 mL/min)

  • Stage 2 Mild CKD (GFR = 60-89 mL/min)

  • Stage 3A Moderate CKD (GFR = 45-59 mL/min)

  • Stage 3B Moderate CKD (GFR = 30-44 mL/min)

  • Stage 4 Severe CKD (GFR = 15-29 mL/min)
