New Delhi: An Indian wedding is not just a ceremony, it is an extravaganza that envelope much more than the conventional rituals.

It involves stupendous music, groundbreaking dances, a drama with a plethora of characters and of course the bonding of two families for generations to come.

Apart from lavish décor and pomp celebrations, bride and groom's cloth, the other most important thing that comes in our mind is what the parents and siblings are going to wear during the wedding.

Everyone talks about how to turn a normal wedding into big fat wedding but as weddings are turning bigger, the entire family's dressing has also gained some weight. Now-a-days the entire wedding is based on theme dresses.

With time, the weddings have only become more profuse, and rather swanky. This has given way to the need of making some parts of the wedding extremely fascinating and exotic.

So, if it’s your daughter's wedding, sister's wedding or best friend's wedding, this piece is surely going to guide you in right direction. Have a look...

Mother- If it is your daughter's D-day, then you must look good. Mostly in India, it is mother who buys her clothes at last, but you can change the tradition and let her buy the dress first.

Her choice is meant to subtly dictate what the mother of the groom will wear.

However, this approach can be a little old-fashioned, not to mention a little unrealistic. The bride's mother should go for something traditional and most likely a saree is perfect.

The apt hairdo and makeup will make her look as beautiful as her daughter. You can go for some unembellished, easy, and elegant piece so that you can enjoy the function, work and can look pretty at the same time.

Father- Definitely father should be the best dressed man in the entire wedding, off course apart from the groom.

Dress up in style and maintain a sense of individuality in it. Since, it's your kid's big day, do dress up as your kid wants. You can wear a formal suit or a traditional sherwani.

A beautiful silk kurta teamed with pyjama can also make you look as handsome as your son, or son-in-law.

Sister- Whether you are elder sister or a younger one, since it's your sister's wedding you have to look good.

While you may not get huge budgets to shop like the bride and maybe not as much time as she would, there is still no reason for you to not put your best foot forward at her wedding.

Dear sisters of the bride-to-be, don't go over-board as it is her special day not yours.

When your sister gets hitched, the most important thing is to not to get carried away by the trends and copy what is in vogue blindly.

Ask yourself if you can make the colour, silhouette or fabric work for you. Try it once, twice, and maybe more to be sure.

Opt for something that makes you feel comfortable while looking stylish. Light-weight outfits fit functions like roka, sangeet or mehendi, where you can twist and twirl without being weighed down.

Also, dress according to your age and personality. Another most important thing to remember here is your body shape as well.

Dress in designs and fabrics that flatter your body, without making you look extra heavy or skinny. There is no need to copy a trend that looks good on someone else.

If you want to put your suits to rest, then go ahead and experiment with sarees. Young ladies, gone are the days when you thought that saree is just for older women.

These days there are many interesting styles and designs that can flatter any young girl’s frame.

Ditch the traditional saree and pick a stitched, pre-draped saree or a saree gown. These are ideal for the cocktail or the reception.

Pick an edgy blouse, maybe in print or a heavily sequined one, with a plain saree to make a statement. You can also pair a net saree with a full-sleeves blouse to be conventional yet not too covered up.

Brother- Brother-sister and brother-brother always share a beautiful relationship, so if your sister/brother is getting hitched, you cannot attend the wedding wearing your rugged jeans and jackets.

You can go for Indo-western combination. The short kurtas can be teamed with Jodhpuri pants. Even pathani suits can play wonders if you carry it well.

Remember guys a lot of girls are going to be around, so can't take risk to look bad.

Best friend- If you are a girl you can go for dresses like a lehenga saree or a gown-styled saree. You can also team up an embellished jacket with your saree.

Experiment with different styles of pants. If you are tall then cigarette pants under a sheer anarkali is sure to look gorgeous. Wear palazzo pants under long kurtas for simpler occasions.

If you are boy, then you can go for tux or simple sherwani. Sometimes a kurta can play wonders. The pathani suit can look good, if you carry it well.
