Everything you should know about the Chiller Systems
Posted: Mar 28, 2021
Industrial chillers are used where the chilled liquid is circulated through process equipment. It is used to cool products and machinery. Water chillers are used in different applications including injection moulding, tool and die-cutting, food and beverage, chemicals, lasers, machine tool, and more.
The function of a chiller is to take heat from one location of the equipment to another place. It is common to use a water solution to transfer the heat to and from the chiller which may require the process chiller to have a reservoir and pumping system. Regardless of your process make sure you get it from the best, chillers manufacturing company whose productivity is better and cost savings.
Why do you use a Chiller?
No machine or motor is 100% efficient, with heat being the most common by-product. If this heat is not removed properly, it will accumulate over time causing reduced production times, shutdowns, and even premature equipment failure. You need to incorporate cooking into industrial process system design to avoid these issues.
At this moment, choosing a chiller to provide cooling has multiple benefits. A chiller provides consistent temperature and pressure to your industrial process. This eliminates temperature and pressure variables and simplifies the process development and optimization. This ensures the highest quality product. Chiller recirculates the cooling water and minimizes the cost of water consumption which can be expensive and environmentally unfriendly.
How Does a Chiller Work?
Chillers provide a continuous flow of coolant in a process water system at the desired temperature of about 50°F (10°C). The coolant is pumped, extracting heat out of one area of a facility to flow back from the return way of the system. On the basis of vapour compression, a mechanical refrigeration system connects to the water system through a device called an evaporator.
With this, refrigerant circulates through an evaporator, compressor, condenser, and expansion device of a chiller. A process occurs in each of the above components of a chiller. The evaporator works as a heat exchanger such that heat captured by the process coolant flow transfers to the refrigerant. When the heat-transfer takes place, the refrigerant evaporates, changing from a low-pressure liquid into vapour, while the temperature of the process coolant reduces.
Later the refrigerant from the evaporator ensures that the pressure in the evaporator remains low to absorb heat. It raises the pressure in outgoing refrigerant vapour so that its temperature remains high to release heat when it reaches the condenser. The refrigerant then returns to a liquid state at the condenser. The latent heat changes as the refrigerant changes from vapour to liquid are carried away from the environment by a cooling medium (air or water).

Industrial refrigeration chillers are heat exchange machines that give a cooling effect that helps to rid a process or machine of unwanted heat. Choosing an adequately-sized chiller from the best chiller companies in India is critical for an efficient and cost-effective process and space cooling. It can quickly determine your optimal chiller capacity, tonnage, size and better cooling.
