All About The Basketball Court

The Total area of the basketball court is 28meters in length and 15meters in width. There are 2 meters of extra space from both sides. There should be the 7Meter Free hight space for the basketball court.

Before the game basketball player use these extra 2 meter space for the warmup

Basketball Court Sidelines

The Length way boundary of the basketball court is designated by the sidelines, It goes across the length of the court. The length of the court of the sideline is 28 meters.

Baseline and end line

The width line of the curt is also called the end line which refers to the ends of the court running behind the goals. Its exact measurement of the end line or the width of the basketball court is 15 meter

Different terms have been used depends on the direction a team is playing. The end line is the phrase for the end of the court in which a team is defending while the baseline is for the attacking team.

Basketball Midcourt

This is the center mark on the basketball court and is used to designate the aggressive playing area in the game.

AS the court length is 28meter so the midcourt line is at 14 meters.

Basketball Court Centre circle

The basketball court center circle has used for the opening tip-off, the diameter of the center circle has a 3.6meter.

Three-Point line In Basketball Court

It is the Arcs line after the centerline. This arc line goes to the baseline or the endline line of the basketball court. If you net the ball before this line you will get three points The distance of the line will differ depending on the game level but is generally it is 6.75m from the basket.

Free throw line of Basketball Court

There is a line at 4.6 meters, this line is designated as the free line. The player stands at this line while shooting the throws.

Free throw circle

The size of the free-throw circle is the same as the center circle The diameter of both circles is 3.6 meters. The player must stay inside this circle while throwing. The circle is also used for jump balls.

Free throw lane lines/key

Lines & Lane run from the free-throw line towards the baseline of the basketball court, to form the 'key'. its width and entire shape can be different depending on the level of the game level but as per FIBA (International Basketball Federation) rules which have changed in 2010 set it as a 4.9m by 5.8m rectangle.

Asphalt

Approx all outdoor basketball courts have made with asphalt. The most common outdoor basketball court surface is the standard asphalt. The standard asphalt has the highest strength and durability and can withstand weather harshness.

Multi-Purpose

Some manufacturer has used the multi-purpose special plastic flooring for basketball courts. Modular polypropylene squares have laid above the initial concrete layer.

Advanced

It is the sub-type of a multi-purpose basketball court with some advanced features. These advanced features have added extra responsiveness. It includes the rubber layer between the concrete floor and the multi-purpose polypropylene squares.
