United States EB-5 Visa: Employment Sponsored Visa
Posted: Apr 12, 2021
The EB-5 visa is the United States’ version of a Golder Visa. It is designed to allow the holder to live, study, and work or retire in the US without finding an employer.
With other Golden Visa types, if you want to get a US EB-5 immigrant investment visa, you can make a substantial investment in the United States. This visa program is ideal for wealthy internationals that are looking for a Green Card or American citizenship.
EB-5 Visa: An Overview
- To get this visa, you have to invest at least $900,000 in a United States enterprise and create a minimum of 10 American jobs.
- If you are eligible for the same visa, you receive a Green Card, and then you can live in the United States.
- In addition, you can include your dependent family members in the application. It means your partner and children also get Green Cards.
- The United States only permits 10,000 EB-5 investment visas every year. It also includes the visa issues to family members.
To get help with your required paperwork and procedures to get a golden visa for the United States, it is highly suggested to get in touch with a reliable expert.
EB-5 Visa Investment
There are two investment options that make you eligible for the same.
Invest at least $900,000 in a TEA
You can invest in a rural area or an area that has a high rate of unemployment – in a government-approved program.
Direct investment of $1.8 million outside a TEA
You can invest in any company or business of your choice or create your own company in the US, but you should ensure that it meets the USCIS requirements.
EB-5 Visa Investment in RC
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has multiple regional centers across the country that focuses on promoting economic growth in specific areas in the US. You can get the list of approved EB-5 immigrant investor regional centers at the USCIS website.
If you are willing to invest in a TEA, you have to prove that your investment has created 10 jobs either directly or indirectly. Indirect jobs are those that are the result of the investment in the commercial business, but people hired work for other companies. They are jobs in the supply chain of the commercial business.
The majority of applications are made via RC, as most of the applicants are more concerned about the immigrant aspect of their investments instead of capital return.
EB-5 Visa Direct Investment
Direct EB-5 investment shows that you create your own company in the United States or you buy an existing company. As the investment is outside the USCIS approved TEA, you can make a higher investment by double the amount.
In addition, you should prove that your company has directly created 10 jobs, and you should have a direct role in the company.
How to Apply for EB-5 Visa?
Follow the steps to apply for an EB-5 visa:
- You can apply to the USCIS using Form I-526 that is the application form for an investment visa. The USCIS can update the address in which you can submit the form.
- The USCIS checks out the application and sends it to the National Visa Center.
- The NVC will contact you and ask you to pay the fees and submit the required documents. The NVC then informs you where and how to pay.
- You can apply for the visa and enter an interview at the US embassy. NVC will form you where and when the interview will happen and what documents are required.
- If all goes well, the US Embassy issues your immigrant investor visa.
