The runway this year was once again full of crazy creations by designers. Here is a list of some of the runway trends that you should try to pull off in your day-to-day this fall. These are guaranteed to be classic hits in your closet for a few years to come.

Long Knits

This bohemian inspired, winter-coat-esq look has been holding strong for a few years and was a big hit on all of the Fall 2014 runway fashion shows. We like how Anthropologie, Free People and Vince pull this look off best. Look like you belong in French bohemia, the Lower East Side of Manhattan or Williamsburg, Brooklyn where the leaves turn red and dance around you in the cool fall chill, as you stay warm in your boho-chic long knit.

Sheer Fabrics

Sheer fabrics are a springtime and autumn classic. If it’s sheer and can be layered, it is perfect for fall. Designers showcasing their work for Fall 2014 could not get enough of sheer fabrics! Layer your sheers under solids, or over your solids for a versatile piece that will keep you looking chic on the warm September days and through your chilly November.

Bold Furs

Fur is always in and out, and this year it is back "in." This fall we are going to see a fun twist on fur with bold furs. What does that mean? Not just fur with unique patterning but furs of different colors. That’s right. You can try to pull off hot pink fur this season.

Embroidery

Pretty embroidery – think bohemia meets 1800s lace. Everything from designs reminiscent of traditional South Asian styles to real old school lace tops will be in this fall. From tunics to blouses to dresses. Pulling of embroidery is a must do this fall.

Pant Suits

With a rise of women declaring feminist views, comes a rise of pant suits. With everyone from Emma Stone to Taylor Swift wearing pant suits on the red carpet, we saw this coming. Pair a form fitting pant suit with stiletto heels for a look that will rock your office or after hours social event. Ladies can rock pants too and the fall weather will permit it.

Aspen Patterned Sweaters

This is a classic that anyone can pull off any fall or winter. Pull out your old patterned sweater from the 1990s this season, because they are back in style. You can buy one from one of your favorite brands. We recommend going the traditional route and buying a good wool sweater. You’ll be in season and warm all winter.

Ponchos

Ponchos to capes come in and out of fashion. This season ponchos are back. Comfy and practical, this trend is a must do this season!

Bold 60s Prints

Everything seems to be a little vintage this season, including vintage prints. Go for bold prints reminiscent of the 1960s this season. This mod look was all over the Fall Fashion Week runway shows back in February. Now it is time to don them! You can find this look at most of your favorite retailers.

Gold

From jewelry to sunny hues on clothes, gold is THE color this fall. Blend in with the leaves as they change color in a bright top paired with a long knit and some cute boots.
