Problems faced in progress of education

Growth of any country is not only dependent on its economic growth but also on technology, natural resources, capital but most importantly it depends on the quality and the quantity of man power in the country. The efficiency of manpower is also dependent on various factors like health, nutrition, education, sanitation etc,. These are important factors that determine the quality of manpower. Education being an important factor in the growth of the country, it’s important that we understand how the quality of education matters for the economic growth of the country.

Let’s now discuss in the detail the problems of education in India. Regardless of how many efforts we have put in to make education better but it still remains at low level.

Let’s look at the problems faced in the progress of education.

  1. Lack of funds

The most important thing required for progress of education is funds. Lack of Funds have been a major reason as to why there are problems with the progress in education. The basics being that due to lack of funds schools lack proper infrastructure, equipment’s, libraries etc,. These things are highly important for better education quality. Therefore lacking in these basic features there is no progress in education.

2. Expensive higher education

Higher education is surely not affordable for a common man. Very few reputed and best degree college in Andhra Pradesh itself are affordable. These are way of too pricy for a common man. Privatization of schools and colleges have surely made it a money making institution and not for the sake of mere education. Therefore high education is a way costlier affair.

3. Neglecting Indian languages

Majority of best plus 2 schools in Andhra Pradesh are English medium. The books used for teaching science or other courses are in English. Therefore, it is a task for rural area students to study those subjects as they are unaware of the language. English is not so common in rural areas of the country. Standard publications are not available in India languages and our languages are quite under developed. Therefore, this also is a barrier for students who really want to learn but can’t due to language barrier.

4. Brain drain

There are various reasons for talented, hardworking people to go and work abroad. One of the main reason is not getting suitable jobs within the country. Therefore these candidates who are extremely talented, intelligent and deserving shift abroad for work and the country is deprived of good talent. This is called as brain drain.

5. Mass illiteracy

This is one of the major reasons for the lack of progress in education. When a country has more than 20% illiteracy rate, it reflects clearly on the economic growth of the country. With increasing illiteracy, this will surely affect the growth and betterment of the country.

6. Resource wastage

Resource wastage is one of the most common reason for lack of Progress in the education system. The dropout rate is quite high. Students between age 6-14 years leave school without even completing basic education. This affects the system and also leads to wastage of human resources and finance.

7. Primary education problems

Primary education has too many factors that are a matter of concern. Many schools don’t have basic facilities such as drinking water faculty, proper washrooms, furniture, study materials.

etc. Teachers are also a matter of concern. Some schools have single teachers whereas some schools have no teachers. This is also a reason for the drop rate to be high, since the schools are not very well established and lack basic necessities.

8. General education oriented.

The Indian education system is quite unproductive for the sole reason that the development of technical and vocational education is unsatisfactory. This leads to increasing unemployment rate. Therefore, it easily affects the growth of the country as a whole.

Therefore these are few reasons as to why there is no much progress in education in India. These are still few but important factors that stop the progress. Working on such factors will surely help the country to progress and achieve economic growth in the country. Once these factors are taken into consideration and the country and its people work hard and understand the importance of education it will automatically increase awareness among other people and will surely lead to reduction in dropouts.
