What is the duration of assessment?

The assessment timeframe can vary depending on the case category. It may take around 12 to 18 months in multiple cases. What are the outcomes?

There are two possible outcomes.

Vary: It means AAT disagrees with the decision made by the Home Affairs department for the cancellation or refusal of the visa. They resend your application with new recommendation and instructions. The application will be forwarded to the department to assess further and accept the request of visa approval.

Is there any other way if AAT’s decision is not in my favor?

If the decision taken by AAT is affirm or negative, you still have two more options to get approval for the visa.

Application to Federal Court: It is done in some rare cases where there is any legal error during the review by AAT.

Application for Ministerial intervention: In this situation, you can write a letter to the minister considering your personal judgement to grant you visa approval. For this, it is must to have potent reasons. The approval chance here is not much. The results are not always in the favor of users.
