Social media planning is about shifting the focus on customers and connecting them on a unique platform and addressing their requisites. If you enter a media line without chalking out your plan, you are bound to fail. The focus is on customer first and what they need.

Rule 1: Fortifying your brand: You need to have a control over your identity on the web. You enter the media only after knowing what you want out of it. Securing your user name is necessary and using Knowem to find your domain name across search engines.

With increased subscribers you know you have the traffic, have gained attention so, now you need to manage it all.

Rule 2: Get to know thyself: You have to know what you are marketing. The successful companies hold on to the reader’s attention so much so, that the customers want to be a part of what is happening; events, discourses, active participation, sharing with their friends, colleagues and families.

Until you know what and how much to share about your marketability you shall not be comfortable to speak out and be at ease while interacting on a social media platform.

Rule 3: Your customer base and community build up: You need to keep a track of what your customers are doing with the interest they have captured from your site. If they are blogging, or writing on the Facebook or sharing with Twitter, get to know the points they are getting drawn to. What they are sharing are indirectly creating communities of belief and use. Take criticisms positively but set the rules for engaging the different social medias working with your company website.

Know your customers- what they like. They pass on and how much they do not. Why they feel unhappy or happy. Your scope of improvement will develop through these researches. Ways and frequencies to engage the social medias to uplift your site has to be developed.

Rule 4: Run contests and promotions: These keep the customers hooked to your site, and refresh your promotions at regular intervals.

Rule5: Distribute jobs: Keep people with knowledge nearby. You may need graphic artists, marketing personals, advertisers to keep your salability strong and refreshed.

Rule 6: Evaluation of social networks which can come of use:

You have your target audience:

a) Existing customers;

b) Building new customer base,

c) Building customers spread over with demographic variance,

d) Keeping a check on how other organizations are using social media sites.

The need is to create awareness among customers about the company image and focus on the availability of the products across search engines, blogs, social media platforms and to be floating in the ocean of similar companies, who all are vying with each other to grow, possess and hold on to a powerful client base.
