The polystyrene balls in the changing cushions, bean bags and the seat 'n sleep as filling are filled with air and "crush" after regular use, depending on the intensity and weight of the child. You can, therefore, also order refills from us via the website (almost at cost price).

Note: the zipper of the changing mat XXL / beanbag is reversed. This is correct and serves to prevent grabbing children's hands from lashing on the zipper and trying to open it. It is best to try to get behind the zipper with your nail and open it carefully. Another method is to take the tab of the zipper through the fabric and, in this way, open the zipper a little, after which you can easily reach it from the inside. That way, you can easily refills bean bag by the changing pad.

Polystyrene granules are very static and sensitive to wind. We recommend inserting the opening of the refill bag as far as possible into the zipper/filling opening of the changing mat/beanbag and shaking the granules very carefully. This way, not many granules can escape and drift around the house or garden. Preferably do this together with someone, outside and in windless weather. You can also put the granules in a smaller / more convenient bag if that is easier for you to handle. Be careful when vacuuming the granules, as this can clog your vacuum cleaner with larger quantities.

Why polystyrene granules? We use polystyrene granules. After all, they have particular properties because they (due to their nature and size) conform to the body.

Polystyrene granules are made from petroleum. Officially it is called EPS, 'expanded polystyrene. That 'expanding', blowing into foam, makes polystyrene foam quite environmentally friendly: it consists of only 2 percent plastic, the other 98 percent is air. The granules are very recyclable. The advice is not to put the old granules in the PMD bag but to hand them in to the recycling centre. We consciously use recycled granules.

In addition to the ordinary cheap beanbag fillings made of polystyrene balls, you can also take EPS pearls that are used as insulation material, among other things. Eps pearls are in the more expensive beanbags. If you need a new filling for a beanbag, it is advisable to take EPS pearls so that you do not have to refill the beanbag for the time being.

In the past, cleaning a beanbag could be a challenge. Most bags did not have an inner pocket at the time, so you had to take out the filling. Only then could the cover go into the washing machine. Often a unique bag was supplied in which you could pour the filling. Nine times out of 10, you poured next to it so that your whole house was filled with Styrofoam balls. The worst scenario you could think of.

Tip for changing cushions: pay extra attention to buttocks (Sudo) cream. The playpen mats and play mats could, at your own risk, also be put in the washing machine, but we recommend that you always put them in a cover (pillowcase or duvet cover) and wash at a maximum of 40 degrees. However, the cushion cover should never be placed in the dryer.
