Do You Suffer From Tinnitus?

Tinnitus, a Latin word meaning 'ringing' refers to the perceived ring of sound in the ears that is caused by exposure to loud noise. Tinnitus can affect both the hearing and the balance of the hearing. It can be constant or intermittent, or come and go all of the time. In this article we will explore the causes, symptoms and treatments of Tinnitus.

You may have heard that you develop tinnitus as you age. While this is true, younger people often experience ear ringing for the first time when they are very young and often do not associate it with any other causes such as hearing loss. Tinnitus often affects people who are exposed to loud noises on a regular basis, such as at rock concerts, power machinery, truck driving, aircraft engines, and others. If you are a rock concert go-er, or someone who works in the construction industry, you may suffer from tinnitus. If you develop tinnitus suddenly, your doctor should check whether you have a cochlea problem or other problem in your ear canal.

Ringing in the ear, buzzing, whooshing, whining, or other sounds inside the ear can be a common cause of Tinnitus. This can also be caused by an inflammation of the inner ear, a result of an infection, or a symptom of a more serious disease such as head trauma. Tinnitus can be either continuous or intermittent, or come and go all the time. An inner ear infection or injury can result in a discharge of mucus or fluid which can increase the sound of ringing within the ear.

There are a number of things which can cause Tinnitus, such as: hearing loss due to exposure to loud noises for prolonged periods, or ear infections, tumors, a side effect of certain medications, or nerve damage. Often the underlying cause of Tinnitus is a hearing loss that has resulted from exposure to loud noises over an extended period. In many cases, age-related hearing loss is the most common cause of Tinnitus. This type of Tinnitus is usually caused by aging, so it's important to try to avoid getting older.

Many people believe that Tinnitus is a symptom of a disease, or that it is itself a disease. However, Dr. Poling says that Tinnitus is just one of the symptoms of an ear problem. It's not a disease per se, but he says: "The ringing in the ears is often mistaken for a disease." It's important to remember that Tinnitus is merely the name for the condition of having difficulty with hearing. The actual problem in the ear is caused by damaged hair cells, or neurons that have become damaged.

So what causes the problem? The problem is caused by too much noise. When you are exposed to high-pitched ringing for an extended period of time, or when you work in an industry where you are exposed to constant loud noise, you can cause damage to the delicate parts of your ear that send sound signals to the brain. The brain then translates the sound as sound in your ears, and that's what causes the annoying sound of Tinnitus.

There are two other types of Tinnitus: objective and subjective. Objective Tinnitus is where you actually can hear the ringing in your ear. You may hear pulsing, clicking, roaring, whooshing, humming, squealing, or any other type of sound that makes you aware that some sound is happening inside your head. For example, you may hear a buzzing sound when you are driving at speed. Or you may hear a high-pitched ringing when you have some static in the air.

Subjective Tinnitus is where you only hear the ringing in your ear while you are awake. Some people have this type of Tinnitus even when they are sleeping, which is rare. This type of Tinnitus is usually not a nuisance, but some people find it very distracting, especially if they are always around noisy noise. If you have objective Tinnitus, it can also be distracting if you need to do very intensive or prolonged tasks that require focused attention, such as driving or working on the computer.
