It is not even a decade that the EV industry has made its inception and gained popularity. The electric two-wheeler market in India, in particular has witnessed a dynamic evolution, with international to local companies investing and manufacturing futuristic vehicles. From being perceived as unreliable and low-power vehicles in the beginning to convenient charging and high-performance transport solutions for the present and coming times, electric two-wheelers have undergone a major transformation. One can now some of the fastest electric bike competing well with the traditional counterparts.

As we talk about the fastest electric bikes or any other electric scooter for adults found in the Indian market it is essential to mention that significant strides of innovation based on in-depth R&D has been made to evolve the EV technology. The battery technology, in particular, has advanced by many folds with the electric two-wheeler companies introducing the Lithium-Ion battery, and even more convenient charging facilities. For example, Gemopai one of the emerging electric scooter companies in India offers the users removable and swappable batteries. This allows the users to keep a backup battery for their vehicle as well as charge according to their convenience and time.

In recent happenings, the Indian government has initiated a collaboration with the EV manufacturers to develop low-cost charging infrastructure for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, to boost the adoption of these vehicles on a larger scale in the coming years. The initiation has been supported by The Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) to the Government of India, in close coordination with the NITI Aayog team.

The government of India has already been in formidable opinion for electric vehicles and has supported the Indian companies to grow and flourish. Following the new initiative, it can be said that the market would witness a new wave, as the primary concern of the common population related to the electric scooters for adults remains the charging factor. The lack of awareness and prevailing misconceptions like that of charging infrastructure is expensive, or the user might end up stranded with a chargeless vehicle in the middle of nowhere has caused an immense gap in the sales growth of the electric two-wheeler.

Thus, initiatives like setting up low-cost charging infrastructure will boost the enthusiasm of the buyers and the number of sales. As per the statement issued by the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) to the Government of India, a target price of less than Rs. 3500 ($50) for a smart AC charge point has been set. These charging points would be operated with smartphones making the future of electric scooters for adults even more interesting. Further, these new standards for the low-cost charging infrastructure will be ratified by the Bureau of Indian Standards.

Indeed, if such facilities are set up it would be as stated by the PSA to the government of India "a global breakthrough in affordable electric vehicle charging infrastructure."
