Seven Steps for Fixing a Flat Tyre

One of the worst things that can happen to a vehicle owner is their car breaking down due to a tyre puncture. Unfortunately, sometimes, help may not always be readily available. So what can you do in such a situation? Well, with the help of a few tools and a little know-how, you can indeed fix your flat tyres and reach your destination safely.

Fix Your Tyre - The Tools You Need

As a vehicle owner, you must carry certain tools always with you. Items like needle-nose pliers, valve cores, and a razor blade are some of the must-have tools. Along with that, you should also carry a compressor.

Another important item you should always have in your car is an aerosol tyre inflator with a hose. Some of them have compressed air and sealant in one unit, which becomes extremely useful for repairing small punctures. Also, carry a tyre pressure gauge. It will help check the tyre pressure.

Fixing the Tyre

#1. Locate the puncture

If you find that the puncturing object is strongly lodged into the tread of your tyre, take out your aerosol tyre inflator and link it to the valve of your tyre. After that, put all that is in the can into your tyre. Soon after doing this, you will find your tyre getting inflated. #2. Take off the Wheel

Do it again till the hole is enlarged, and you can push and remove the tool effortlessly.

#6. Position the Plug

Take the rope plug and flatten one of its ends. Now push it through the eyelet, which can be found on the installation tool. Firmly hold that edge of the plug which is sticking out with the pliers. Now pull it by way of the eyelet till the plug protrudes equally from both sides.

Now take some lube and apply it to the plug and the tool's edge. Keep the tooltip on top of the hole, grip the tool with your hands and force it through your tyre. Do it till the depth guide is flush with the tread. Now pull out the tool from the hole as fast as possible.

#7. Install the Wheel Again

Inflate the tyre, then follow the steps in reverse order to reinstall the wheel.
