Forgot My Password! How to Unlock HP laptop

Today, people pay a lot of attention to computer security and data protection. Setting a complex password with a high security level is highly recommended to protect your data from unauthorized access. Using HP notebooks always includes creating a password for them.

Here are some useful password-making tips for your HP laptop:

  • Provide a password which is lengthy (12 characters at least).
  • Use numbers, symbols, capital letters, and lower-case letters.
  • Use a commonly known phrase, or numbers like 123456.
  • Do not use memorable keyboard paths.

However, it is very difficult for most users to remember a strong password. You can usually write it down or take a picture. Unfortunately, even today, plenty of users forget their HP laptop passwords.

How do you get into a locked HP laptop? Password reset discs commonly resolve the problem. Users may wonder how to reset their HP laptop password without a disc. When working with the laptop, it's frustrating because you cannot save your work.

Stop right there. Here are several methods for unlocking HP laptops. Let's do it one by one.

Method 1: The Hidden Administrator Account

Administrator accounts have control over your device, as well as the ability to manage the passwords of other accounts. To reset the password of a particular user account on your HP laptop, use another admin account instead.

Step: 1 If you can log into an available administrator account, then please do so. Otherwise, you will have to use the administrator account that's been hidden.

To reset the password, use another account.

To begin, go to the login screen and select an account with administrator privileges from the user list. Shift click if necessary to quickly use the built-in administrator account.

Step 2: Open the Control Panel and locate the user's accounts.

Step 3: Click "Manage another account" and select your locked user account.

Step 4: Click the Change Password button, and you will be prompted to create a new password for the locked account. Confirm the password change by clicking the Change Password button.

You can now sign out of the current account and sign into the locked account with the new password.

Method 2: Using a Password Reset Disk

Creating a password reset disc on your HP laptop simplifies things greatly. Let's see if we can hack the HP laptop with a password reset disc.

Step 1: Attach the password reset disc to your HP laptop.

Step 2: Enter any incorrect passwords when you get to the login screen. If you are asked to enter the password, click OK.
