Have you recently accomplished a house move from Mumbai to Chennai? Was the journey executed well by the packers and movers in Mumbai? Or, there was some glitch along the way? We would assume the move turned out great if you had the professionals support alongside. We understand what you are looking forth now - it is to quickly get done with the unboxing and re-arrangement of your new home so you can come out of the stressful moving period practically.

Do not worry because achieving a beautifully organized home is not at all a problem with some quick home arrangement tips and techniques. Here we are sharing an uncomplicated process of making your home set-up task simple and sorted, post a move. We hope you will find it beneficial and make the best out of it, now that you have finally landed up in your new house a couple of days ago but are yet to make it your home!

  • Have a strategy to follow – Just like you planned for the pre-move preparations, you have to come up with a plan of unboxing and re-arranging your new household with the items that you have within the boxes and cartons. Avoid messing up things further, proceed with a plan and unpack the boxes belonging to one specific room than unpacking everything together. We would recommend you to set up the primary sections first like your kitchen, the bathroom, etc.
  • Get the essentials established – With essentials we mean both – all the major appliances and the important household stuff that you have. The couch and wooden furniture could be unpacked a day later but not the toiletries and clothing boxes. So, prioritize things and work upon settling the most important spaces of your home. In that case, you should unpack the kitchen items first and the living room at last. Appliances like refrigerators, TV, oven, etc. should also be reinstated quickly.
  • Ascertain a few things alongside – Unpacking is a time taking the job. Also, you drain a good amount of time and energy in emptying the boxes, bringing out the contents one by one, and then discarding the boxes and the mess that gets created around. To make the job easier, involve a few other members of your family who can help you out. This way you can delegate few responsibilities to them and the task would be managed quickly and in an organized manner.
  • Know how to set up washroom – Well, by now you would already have made it functional because it has been a few days since you arrived at this new place. But, if the basic items are not yet brought out and arranged within the bathroom, then do that. Also, before using the bathroom, make sure you give it a good clean-up. If possible, wash it properly with the cleaning supplies if the interiors look unclean.
  • Make the kitchen your next space to tackle – If you have not yet organized your kitchen space, and only established the major appliances and a few items, then you should take time out to set up your kitchen. Your kitchen would take a lot of time to be arranged ideally and you will have to handle several complicated items – from the uniquely shaped kitchen tools to the delicate crockery and the enormous range of sealed items – the packaged goods, spices, and condiments.
  • Reinstate electronics and settle furniture – Once you have managed the bathroom and kitchen, you can unpack and organize the electronic items and furniture before moving to arrange other rooms. This will give you a break for a while and simply put the major electronic items in their designated place. If the experts did that for you, you can pay attention to put together the furniture and other fittings/accessories in your house. Be careful; refer to guidebooks or tutorials if required.
  • Put together your bed, assemble bedroom – Your bedroom should properly be done because a messy bed could exhibit an untidy space which we assume you won’t love to come across. So, establish your bed, spread new bedding, change pillows. Keep the bedroom furniture and accessories like the study table, the cabinet section, the paintings, and artwork in their designated place. Lay down the floor carpet, hang the wall hangings, stack the pots and vases to give it a charming look.
  • Sort out stuff for the living room – If you haven’t arranged your drawing room and it is still looking disorganized, you should now take a moment to look after this room. This is the primary section of any household as anyone coming to meet you would move into this space and a muddled-up space with cartons and wrapping papers would not leave a good impression. So, make sure you arrange this space as per the floor plan you created for the furniture set up a plan for this area. Establish all the living room furniture appropriately; keeps the booklets and magazines properly stacked.
  • For the miscellaneous sections – Doing up the important rooms in a household is not going to make your new place appear spring clean. You have to pay attention to the less important but often overlooked spaces like the backyard, the concrete ground on your lawn, the nursery, the storeroom, the terrace, and the basement area of your house should also be attended similarly. Although you can manage these spaces much later until it is not bothering you or looking weird.
  • Do not forget the kid’s space – Though we mentioned this at the end, you should set up the kid’s room first once you have moved in. Kids, especially toddlers are habituated to their own space cannot accept even the slightest degree of discomfort in their routine. So, make sure to establish their necessities in their space.

Congratulations on moving to your new home. You must be feeling overjoyed, after all coming from Mumbai to Chennai is not a five-finger exercise, even if you have the support from the movers and packers in Mumbai. So, take a moment to check out the home organization tactics and streamline your post-move experience.
