Jupiter’s Legacy began streaming on Netflix on May 7. Jupiter’s Legacy show is based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Mark Miller. It is one of the best comic books. The new season of the Netflix show adapts roughly the first two and a half issues of it. There is a lot left out in terms of the overall story. Netflix launched the first season on May 7, 2021.

Season So Far

The story centers around Sheldon Sampson. He is a wealthy businessman who lost everything after the stock market crash in 1929. Because of this, his father ended his own life. Now, Sheldon is haunted by visions of his father and a mysterious island.

Sheldon traveled to this island with his friends and family members. They came across an alien doorway that took them to Jupiter. On returning, they have superpowers and thus started Jupiter’s Legacy.

The series expands massive episodes that add different characters. Season jumps back and forth between two time periods. The first one being the origin of the story and later being them in current years. They try the way that the world is now. The superhero group is called Union. They stand for truth and justice.

Sheldon and the rest of the group wrestle with each other on some topic. He believes in never killing anyone and never interfering in political matters. The group is led by his brother Walter. Walter has psychic powers. He views himself as someone who could have changed humanity on a global scale. Walter was never the favorite. The season is much about him creating an uprising against him.

At the end of the season, we get to know that he created a clone of a supervillain called Black Star. He used Black Star as a weapon. Sheldon’s son Branden stepped in to fight to save his father’s life and killed Black Star. Sheldon was disappointed by this move because Branden broke the code.

About The Jupiter’s Legacy

The season is based on eight episodes, and it contains a different name for each episode.

  1. By Dawn’s Early Light
  2. Paper and Stone
  3. Painting The Clouds With Sunshine
  4. All The Devils Are Here
  5. What’s The Use?
  6. Cover Her Face
  7. Omens Pro Uno
  8. How It All Ends

The Jupiter’s Legacy series has various main and leading characters. We are providing some of the main lead cast and character.

  • Josh Duhamel as Sheldon Sampson
  • Ben Daniels as Walter Sampson / Brainwave
  • Leslie Bibb as Grace Kennedy-Sampson / Lady Liberty
  • Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson / The Paragon
  • Elena Kampouris as Chloe Sampson
  • Mike Wade as Fitz Small / The Flare
  • Matt Lanter as George Hutchence / Skyfox
Difference Between Comics

The comics differ slightly from the season. In the comics, there was no clone of Black Star. The series pulls the fight between Union and the villain. Brandon does not show up for the fight. In the comics, the reason for the disappointment was something else.

The series introduces far more character development than the comics. You will see a mad journey of Sheldon.

Reviews and Reaction

Jupiter’s Legacy show is getting mixed reviews from the viewers. IMDB rated 6.9-star for the overall show. Few episodes got 8-star ratings from IMDB. Overall, there is quite a lot to like in the Jupiter’s Legacy series. This is just the intro to plot the story. The central part will start when Walter starts to enact his plan. People who do not know what is going on with comics might view this as a superhero show that does not quite do anything new.

It is difficult to argue against that without talking about the work. When series is presented on its own, it might not blow everyone’s socks off. However, the season is out there, and if you love the graphic novel series, then we think there is a lot to fall in love with Jupiter’s Legacy.

Certain moments such as the shark water scene, are directly from the comics. It does an excellent job for the screen.

There should be more than eight episodes, and the season had to end with significant death in the comics. It is worth sticking out with Jupiter’s Legacy whether season 2 is out or not.

Conclusion

This is a pretty solid first entry in a Netflix show. Jupiter’s Legacy is not an average Superhero story. The acting was great by the cast. Jupiter’s Legacy will keep you entertained for a couple of hours. You will be desperate for season 2. Jupiter’s Legacy season 1 was an excellent first chapter. Everyone will be hyped to see what is next.
