Caravans are my obsession. I was looking for so many years just to buy the right one. Why? My life has been changed since we made this decision, together with my wife. Now we are travelling with our Monte Carlo Caravan across Australia. How does one best round off a lifetime of camping and caravanning can change your life? You will never know till you try! It's very comfortable and homely feeling and adventurous at the same time.

The Sunrise Monte Carlo caravan needs to be a decent length in order to cope with all its luxury fittings and space requirements and at 7.32m (24ft) long, this one fits the bill. There are other smaller caravans on the market, but there's a definite emphasis on vans such as the exotically named Monte Carlo, one of the latest in the Sunrise range. The caravan has everything you need to enjoy while you are travelling. Also there are other interesting models of caravans such as: Tropicana, Bahamas, Splendour, Radiance, Grandeur, Twilight, Beachcomber, Boulevard etc which you can try it.

The Monte Carlo's standard layout, with its front bedroom, nearside kitchen, offside dinette and rear bathroom, is about the only 'standard' part of this van. The interior is beautifully designed; combing form and function with an exquisite colour scheme, giving this van a very high-end feel. That was our "dream come true" moment!

All it takes to make your travels enjoyable is to make the right decision while you are buying a used caravan. I was well informed about specifications that are important to make a good deal. So what should you know before you buy a Used Caravan:

  • Always ask to view the registration history of the caravan.
  • Ask if the caravan has been involved in any accidents, and request details in writing referring to any major repairs or adjustments made to the caravan.
  • Before arranging to view a potential van, ask the current owner if you will be able to do a thorough 'once over' of the van. Make it clear that you would like to thoroughly check everything inside and outside the van.
  • Also remember to ask the dealer, seller or manufacturer about the availability of spare parts. Being aware of availability will help you to avoid frustrations in the future.
