This is the first of a series of short articles expressing my own thoughts and views and how it brought me to become a co-owner of edbullion. The content is for informational purposes only, you should not construe any such information or other material as investment, financial or other advice.

Abit about my background: I was a fixed income derivatives trader for approaching 15 years, I was working in New York during the Great Financial Crisis (GFC) so had a front-row seat to all that transpired during that time, and it certainly left an impression. I primarily became disillusioned with the ineptitude and arrogance of Central Bankers who have little accountability, hold disproportionate power to indiscriminately transfer wealth, designed for the lucky few to retain and amass great wealth over the many.

Turning point: The turning point for me was after reading Murray Rothbard’s "What has the Government done to our money." While originally written in 1963 (when the price was gold was around 35USD and silver was around 1USD), it was an eye-opener, accurately predicting how the addiction of government/central bank meddling could lead to the explosion of credit and fuel extreme boom/bust cycles. Evidence is showing, things are playing out exactly how Rothbard predicted in his book almost 60yrs ago and if you read his book in 2021, it would feel like it was recently written because of its relevancy to the times. This led me to carry on with my research, encountering Mike Maloney’s Hidden Secrets of Money (on youtube) along the way, as well as a wealth of other books on macroeconomics, monetary policy, and precious metals.

I concluded that the situation has gotten so bad, its pretty much hopeless. We now live in a world where governments and central banks are handicapped through their own doing. They can’t raise interest rates for fear that asset prices could come crashing down and they also need inflation to manage their debt load. This situation consistently favors asset owners over those who don’t. It almost seems like Central bankers would prefer people to be oblivious to what is happening. That could be why inflation statistics continue to be massaged (see www.shadowstats.com) and there are numerous attempts to manage inflationary expectations downwards by constantly alluding to it being "transitory". As the saying goes, "inflation seems to be everywhere except in the CPI (consumer price index)". This eventual runaway inflation (I think is inevitable) is something I wanted to protect myself and my family against. There is much more that can be discussed around this subject but that will be for another time.

Silver: When people ask how I got into stacking, it was more of proof by elimination. I didn’t want to hold too much fiat currency (for rapidly loss of value). I didn’t want to add to real estate or stock holdings despite knowing full well that low-interest rates and the boost in liquidity would likely keep prices elevated in the short to medium term. I instead turned to an asset I believed was undervalued on many metrics, had numerous industrial applications, and was used as "true’ money for 1000s of years. Silver. It seems I am not alone, there is now a growing retail army of silver stackers that can be found on websites like Reddit (#wallstreetsilver).

EDBULLION: As a stacker myself and constantly searching for good deals on silver, I realized many bullion dealers had very high spreads (for whatever reason) even for generic silver bullion so I wanted to see if I could do a better job giving great deals, educating others and providing objective silver market color to the stacker community. So I joined www.edbullion.com in April 2021. We are transparent, approachable, and happy to answer any questions at sales@edbullion.com

Next STEPs: We have a number of projects in the pipeline. In the short-term, we are looking to revamp our website to give it a whole new look. Soon after, we will also offer international delivery and very competitive storage solutions. Watch this space for more updates. Thank you for your time.
