The dining table is one place where you can showcase your decorative dinner sets, cutlery sets, serve delicious food and have a good time while hosting dinner parties and other events. Most dining tables are covered with table covers that match the decor of the dining room and add a touch of elegance to it. You can accessorise your table with table mats, coasters and candle holders. A table runner is another stylish accessory that you can have for your table. It adds colour and style while protecting your table at the same time. Typically, it is used on top of a tablecloth, but sometimes it is used instead of a tablecloth. By default, a table runner is placed down the centre of the table from end to end. Table runners are often used for special occasions, like when you are hosting dinner parties or during birthdays and other such similar functions. They can also be used on a daily basis to add a decorative touch to the dining room.

Table runners are available in different types of fabrics with the popular ones being cotton, polyester and blended fabrics. Bamboo and woven fabrics are also becoming popular, with lace being a traditional choice for years. Satin and silk table runners are high end and they are used for very special occasions. Some of them will also feature quilted, embroidery or other special stitching. These clothes can be stand alone or layered to create different effects. One popular style is the single coloured runner with a smaller lace runner centred on top of it. This gives the table a classy and textured look. Some of these runners also feature themed designs to match special holidays, while others feature prints or patterns.

As many runners are made from cotton or cotton-polyester blends, they are machine washable. It is always recommended that you read the care instructions that come along with these runners. If you need to clean one on the spot, then applying a gentle pre-wash solution before laundering is highly recommended. These clothes are washed separately or with similar materials and colours to prevent bleaching. Air drying or drying on low heat are appropriate for some fabric, but other fabrics will require the table runners to be laid flat to dry. If you have silk table runners, then you can only dry clean them. You can also wash silk and other delicate runners at home, keeping in mind that the colours do not run and the fabrics are not damaged. Hand washing or gentle cycle washing in a washing machine is recommended for some fabrics. When the table runners are not in use, you can easily fold them and store in a cool, dry linen closet.

Shopping for table runners online is now easy, thanks to various e-commerce sites which offer a huge selection to choose from. With safe and secure payment options as well as easy return and replacement policies, you can be rest assured and enjoy shopping online.
