We are global industrial process machinery suppliers providing complete systems for the powder and bulk processing industry. We specialize in the design and supply for mechanical and thermal processing of dry and wet powders as well as providing agglomeration equipment.

Understand Your Product

Powder mixing is used across a broad range of industries and the processes are complex. A variety of methods are used depending on the materials involved and the form which the end product must take. Therefore, it is important to understand the physical and chemical components of the substances in question and to consider your requirements. These should include whether the end product is to be commercially marketed or if it is being processed for disposal purposes.

Wet or Dry?

Mechanical mixing processes use pressure to compact materials into briquettes or sheets which are practical to handle and store. Other methods combine substances to form pelletized products such as fertilizers and animal feed. Pelletizing makes transportation easier and also results in a suitable form for retail.

If you are working with substances which have a high dust content, mixing equipment such as paddle mixers or pin mixers will facilitate the process as these use binder solutions or other liquids which are added to the mixture. An example of this is the construction industry where cement, water and aggregate are combined to create concrete, although various wet powder mixing methods are widely used in the pharmaceutical industries as well.

Agglomeration Equipment

Agglomeration enables versatility right across the manufacturing industries as well as the management of waste materials. Specialist equipment has been designed to cope with different substances and the types of processes necessary to achieve the required end product. Some examples of these types of mixers are pan pelletizers; pin mixers, which can produce more finely granulated products; paddle mixers and rotary drums, also referred to as drum granulators, which are used in drying, mixing and granulating. As with many types of agglomeration and powder mixing equipment, these are suitable for processes involving liquids as well as solids.

Briquetting equipment uses very high pressure to compact substances without the application of binders and is required for materials which need to be formed into blocks, such as coal and charcoal.

Ask the Experts

Today, there is a vast array of methods and equipment to carry out specific tasks so there will inevitably be something there to meet your needs; however, if you are unsure about what is best for you, always ask for advice to ensure you obtain the most effective solution.
