LPG, an Environmentally Friendly Fuel
Posted: Aug 13, 2021
A recent study shows that around 3 billion people still use biomass, kerosene and coal for cooking and heating purposes in their homes. More than 4 million people die from illness due to household pollution from cooking with toxic fuels. According to statistics, burning wood and coal produces around 150 times more CO2 than LPG per gigajoule of energy, contributing to the outdoor air pollution. In 2014, 92% of the world’s population were living in places where the air quality level guidelines set out by WHO were not met. But thanks to the new political rules and regulations, lpg is now being used more than before all around the world.
Nowadays people have become quite environmentally conscious and therefore use LPG for different purposes as it does not emit any harmful gas like other fuels. Also the high calorific value makes it perfect for all heating purposes. LPG which is also known as auto gas is popular in the automobile industry. Due to the increasing price of petrol and diesel most of the people are switching to auto gas in order to save money. Also the maintenance cost of vehicles when used with auto gas is less when compared to petrol and diesel. About 25 million Autogas vehicles are in use today and due to this there is a significant reduction of CO2 emissions, as well as a lower NOx and SOx pollution. Besides lower CO2 emissions, even when there is a gas leak there is no contamination to the sea or groundwater.
Advantages of LPG Over Other sources of energy :
It is easily transportable.
It has a higher calorific value, allowing you to heat in less time.
It doesn't contain sulphur and therefore burns a lot cleaner than other energy resources.
It is more reliable than other sources of energy since it burns consistently.
The most talked about feature about lpg is its being environmentally friendly.
As mentioned above, as more and more people are getting aware of the benefits of domestic LPG, the demand of home LPG gas suppliers is also increasing day by day. Gas agencies are trying to improve their customer service through mobile apps and websites for better operations.
