Finding the right AC type is now something of great importance, as for consumers there are wide range of varieties from which they can select the right air conditioner for their homes. There are almost many types which help consumers t choose the right AC.

To choose an air conditioner you need to see the type that fits the place where you put up and does it fit your requirements or not. There are many types for different purposes at different price ranges. There are four types of air conditioner types from which the users can choose the best AC type for themselves and can choose from varied ranges and varieties.

  • WINDOW MOUNTED: window mounted AC type is the most common type of air conditioner, it is best used for moderate temperature places where just the cooling unit can only be used or both the cooling or heating unit. As they are easy to install and can be removed once the season ends. The best thing about these air conditioners is that, that they are low in cost and are easily available with varied variants. They are easily available for all brands, so certainly consumers don’t have the need to stick to one. There’s only one drawback that is they can only be used for double hung windows. They price between Rs 15,000 to Rs 45,000.

  • WALL MOUNTED: Wall mounted air conditioners are the split air conditioners in India which are permanently mounted on the wall by attaching metal sleeves through the wall and sliding in the AC chassis form inside. It is aesthetically appealing, fit more securely than window units, no storage is necessary, easy to repair and replace. And the best part is if there is only one window in the room, still the sunlight will be able to pass in the room. But with all these good features it does have some issues, the installation cost is high, and you may need to buy exterior metal sleeves which is a over cost on wall mounted air conditioners. They even cost more as compared to window mounted one. They start from Rs 24,000 and goes up to Rs 50,000.

  • WINDOW AND WALL MOUNTED: These are most versatile type of air conditioners, which can be fitted well both in a window and wall permanently. They can be temporarily installed in a window or permanently mounted in a wall. They are the best type for rental apartments and if one is shifting, they can install it on the wall too. There are few issues as well like they normally don’t have window installation kit with it. And they cost same as mounted air conditioner type.

  • PORTABLE: These are the tower air conditioners which have wheels which helps in rolling the air conditioner from one room to another and are also called mobile air conditioner. They include a tube to exhaust heat out of a window or through an opening in a wall. They are quite useful as they can be stored at the end of the season. They are very expensive as compared to other types, and takes up more space and takes a lot of efforts and money in installing the tube each time you change the room. They cost around Rs 50,000 and reach upto Rs 65,000. They are very expensive but are of high quality.
